Hi all something I did yesterday: tinyurl.com/6bfx9v considering this is my very first elevated pano, and the size of the nadir I had to contend with, I'm pleased with the result. Also, for the first time, i did not take a nadir shot, but taught myself to use the heal & patch tools in CS2 to remove shadow and nadir - so could be better but not too bad I think. Look at the size of the nadir I had to get rid of!: tinyurl.com/5ezduo

hi all. sent this question to Agnos via email twice, with no reply - so thought you might be able to help. I want to get a Ring T8S35 for my Sigma 8mm f3.5 (with Canon 400D) but don't know the difference between Agnos' Rotator “M” and THREE38 that they offer in their kit bundles on their website here: tinyurl.com/5a76ue
what's the difference?

Hi Paul
Thanks for the info - pretty much expected the same answer based on the pan-tilt mount. BTW - nice website, and nice stock marketing pics from Elevated Photos (!) Stu

Hi all
A client has asked if it is possible to take a full spherical pano from a mast, say 15m up in the air. Well, I know it can be done as per the example of the house top-right on this website: www.clearshots.co.uk/360_tours/
This set-up uses a Canon Powershot series of camera that can take pictures remotely with a USB connection to a laptop using Canon’s own Zoom Browser software. The mount atop the mast is remote controlled for 360 panning, and a maximum of 30° tilt. So, it would be possible, with say a Raynox wide-angle converter lens to do a limited FOV, or a number of rows. But, how would you be able to get a decent Zenith or Nadir? Anyone had a go at this set up before?

Hi John, et al
here we have 4 example panos: This one: www.stuartthorp.co.uk/HDR_test/15,20,80th_sec_det... has been done with fixed exposure round (1/5, 1/20 & 1/80th secs) and Details Enhancer in Photomatix. This one: www.stuartthorp.co.uk/HDR_test/15,20,80th_sec_ton... same images, but Tone Compressor used. This one: www.stuartthorp.co.uk/HDR_test/variable_exposures... exposure set for each shot taken, and Details Enhancer applied. And finally, same method of shot-taking, but Tone Compressed: www.stuartthorp.co.uk/HDR_test/variable_exposures...
only one does not have a visable stitch seam somewhere....
comments on a postcard please!

Hi John will do - over the weekend I'll do a current, standard "work through", and hopefully it will go wrong and show a nasty stitch seam! For all those in the UK - have a great May Bank Holiday (make the most of it - here in the UK we get the least number of Bank Holidays of any of our European neighbours - boo!).

Hi all
I’m really pleased with my progress to date – all down to the invaluable support on here. I am, however, still struggling to include HDR / Details Enhancer into my workflow for AEB panos with Photomatix Pro. I’ve tried using Enblend and Smart Blend as the blenders in PTGui Pro, but still no success. I can get a result using the Tone Compressor, but it’s not as detailed as the Details Enhancer, which leaves me everytime with a stitch seam.
Since my very first attempt at bracketed AEB panos, I’ve set the exposure for each & every shot round – to get an even exposure in all lighting conditions across the pano. I’ve also experimented with using one fixed exposure rate too – picking an “average” from the pano shots. So, question is, how do I get rid of the seam – is it incorrect process taking the pictures, or do I have to somehow edit the tile with the seam in it in Photoshop?
Help!
cheers Stuart

hi all
anyone got any links to good tutorials on using the "patch" & "clone" tools in CS2? I currently use "layer mask>reveal all" quite well, but would like to learn a couple of alternatives (recommended by Gus). cheers Stu

I am very much a beginner, and I’m still learning (and will be forever!). I trialled all the commercial stitching software programs, but chose PTgui because it does represent value for money and is so capable of doing so much. Yes, the learning curve is very steep, only because you can do so much with it. I then convert to cube faces with pano2vr, touch up (or usually hash) the nadir, and export the finished QTVR into Pleinpot. I have a long way to go before I offer my services commercially (and agree totally with irieman to allow quite a few months before selling yourself).
