I hadn't noticed the fix in the past few weeks, but I haven't upgraded iTunes until I was FORCED to (in order to download an app to my iPhone..go figure).
I've pretty much stopped viewing websites that use QTVR about 4 years ago when I switched to a 64bit OS.

I had just patched my iTunes to the latest version and of course that means Quicktime gets updated.
I was on a website this morning that had a QuicktimeVR panoramic, and it loaded!
I guess Apple didn't forget about us. I just checked on my iPhone and QuicktimeVR doesn't work
So, the question is, would you bother with QTVR again, or have you switched to Flash (I use KRpano) and HTML5 (for mobile)?

I've been shooting panos for 4 years now and here's what I did the other day:
Drove an hour to a cool covered bridge, shot regular shots, then put my 15mm fisheye on for a pano, got the exposure set, shot the thing fast (I was standing in the middle of the covered bridge, after waiting for cars to pass) Shot the pano in HDR (3 shots per, 6 around, 1 up)
Preview on the camera back looked great, head home.
Load the files into photoshop, they're not sharp, blurry, maybe it didn't load right, (Photoshop raw does that 2 pass image display). I'm perplexed.
I look at my lens, the focus ring is all screwed up, not set a little off infinity like I normally do. And I usually have it taped down with gaffers tape so it doesn't move.
What had happened is a few weeks ago I was shooting in the cockpit of a B-17 bomber, and removed the tape to change the focus because everything is within 2 feet of the camera.
After that, I never put the tape back on.
The past few weeks I've been shooting with my 8mm (which is taped correctly) so I never caught the issue, until I went to the bridge.
So it happens to all of us.
Best thing is a checklist, and don't rush yourself. Get everything setup out of the way (off field as it were) and tested, then you can walk out to the spot, shoot and walk back and not bother anyone.
BTW: the other day I filled a 8gb CF card, opened my bag and saw the second 8gb card, grabbed it and shot about 12 pictures and the card was full, turns out I saw the 8gb but grabbed an old 1gb CF out of my bag (and I'm shooting RAW on a Canon 5D Mk II, so the files are huge)
Maybe I should take up fishing....

I almost always shoot a zenith (unless it's just pure blue sky or very overcast).
When I use my 15mm fisheye, I shoot -10 so the nadir hole is smaller, then shoot a zenith to patch the sky as well.

There's no reason for the +5 degrees tilt, since the 5DM2 is full frame, you'll get the entire circle, a full 180x180.

Sometimes applications allow you to uninstall and unregister the license. This allows you to put it on a new machine.
Unfortunately most of us don't reinstall until the machine is totally hosed, so there's no chance of unregistering the key.
Try calling their tech support, it's worth a shot.

Yes, it's because of Flash 10.
When the pano is rotating, hit the 9 key on your keyboard to switch to Flash 9, then then 0 to go back to Flash 10. You'll notice there's less jiggly lines as it rotates, and also the edges of the screen don't have those weird wavey distortions.

Yeah, next time I shoot something like this, I need to buy some ice grippers or crampons, I was afraid I was going to fall down the hill.

What is your reason for getting a one shot setup?
If you use a 8mm on a full frame camera, you can shoot in 2 shots (3 to ensure overlap) and that's pretty fast.

Was looking into some underwater panos (at water level or just under..snorkeling not deep).
Any recommendations for a housing to support a 40D w/8mm fisheye, or a 5DM2 with 15mm fisheye?
