John, Thanks for the reply. How do you create t3, t4 control points along two or four different images? I will try to figure it out but if you have any pointers or tutorials it would help.
I don't believe I have optimized for d & e I will try that. I have posted the PTGUI projects if those will help anyone to look at them. www.sarno.biz/ptguiexamples.html

I am having a terrible time stitching multi-row images with PTgui. The seams never stitch well and straight lines don’t line up.
I am shooting with a 14mm, two rows of ten images at 35degrees. When I optimize I always get a “Very Good”. I try and keep the distance between control points below 4 however some times this is imposable no mater how many times I add and subtract control points. Can anyone look at my panos and tell me what I am doing wrong? Please ignore the color problems I am just trying to get these to stitch before I worry about color and value. I can post the source images once I get them small enough to put on the web if anyone wants to look at them and see if the problem is the images.

Also, can anyone answer the following questions for me? I am tired of wasting time with experiments.
What is the max distance the control points should be in relation to the output image size?
What is the recommended output size (l x w) for full screen 360x180.
Those how are doing multi row panos with a DSL, do you use full resolution tiff input images. Or do you down size you images and convert them to 72 ppi before you bring them into PTgui?
Any help would be great. I am going nuts trying to get things to line up and to do things faster.

Thanks Smooth,
Hey, Can Panolink create pop up hotspots like with Ptviewer? I want to be able to rollover a hotspot and have description text show up in an image box. Thanks for the links and info.

Does anyone know what software I need to create hotspots in QuickTime movies? Is my only option QuickTime VR Authoring Studio? Or can Pano Cube Plus do it? Any other software? I read that Smooth360 recommended VRtoolbox for object movies. Can it do hotspots as well? Thanks SP&WD

John, Thanks for your advice, However, because I can't use flash with Pannos my only light is window light. At shudder speeds below 1/60th of a second you will see noticeable motion blur no mater what lens focal length you are using. I have never heard of the lens focal length having anything to do with shutter speed and motion blur except that it is more noticeable with telephoto lenses due to circles of confusion.
As an interior architectural photographer I am often photographing with shutter speeds in the 1/30 - 8 sec or more in order to use the desired depth of field of f8 - f32. And with those exposures I am using a few flash heads with umbrellas to fill in the shadows. I am doing (trying to learn how to do) high end multirow panos with a 14mm rectilinear lens at f 8. How are other interior photographers hand holding for the nadir when the light source and focal length calls for a longer shutter speed then 1/60 second. Are you using a boom arm with a tripod or are you not shooting below 1/60th? If not how are you avoiding this? Thanks SPWD01

Can anyone give me advice on the best way to capture a nadir image when you are indoors working in low lights? I see so many indoor panos with a full nadir image without a tripod cap. How do you do it hand held? The only way I see it being possible is using a flash or changing the ISO to 1600. IMO neither is a good option. I am looking to stitch for both a java viewer and QTVR. Any Advice?
Thanks SPWD01

Multirow VS Fish Eye 360x180

Does anyone have any advice on the quality difference of multirow 360x180 vs 6 shot fish eye 360 x 180. Does any one have any examples that they shot both ways? I am looking for professional results, High quality images for web site virtual tours. Right now I am learning how to do this with a Cannon 20D, 14mm Tamron, Manfrotto multilevel head 303 sph, PTGUI, and it is a pain in the A**. I haven’t figured out how to get the multirows to line up perfectly yet. I am assuming a fish eye is quicker but I am wondering about quality and distortion. I would love to hear any advice you guys & gals have. Thanks, SP&WD
