addition to the above...

aside from photoshop, i have used nikon capture to boost colors in my pano images. you can see the color boost results by comparing the finished panos at www.spain720.com/eng/accommodations to the photos at www.lacasadelazahar.com/fot.html .

compare the initial pano view of the reception and store at www.spain720.com/eng/accommodations to the photo below...

then also compare the patio view (click the hotspot in the reception view at www.spain720.com/eng/accommodations to move to the patio) to the image below...

.

the difference is EXTREME, shows what a bit of color boosting can do cool

hope that helps.

HEki.

there is no mystery to those colors.

that last set you posted on is created with photomatix ( see www.hdrsoft.com ) or similar software. as rudders wrote...

"Another way to achieve richer colour is HDR imaging, using bracketing, ie taking various exposures of the same scene and combining them."

check out the pano by Martin on the thread at www.panoguide.com/forums/galleries/1971/ . it uses the same technique.

only problem i see (and correct me if i am wrong anyone who knows better than i) is that using multiple exposures and a program like photomatix is limited to scenes where nothing is moving since the 3 shots you take of the same position need to be the same. this means that the photomatix enhanced panos you see will normally not have people, animals or animated objects in them, either that or they were made to stay still during the shoot.

hope that helps.

Kyle, to my knowledge, what you are looking for is not here yet.

the immervision peeps are working on what looks like a great flash pano viewer but they are taking their sweet time wink in releasing it to the public.

as fiero said, for embedding movie clips into panos, devalvr is it but there is a diff. between embedding a movie in a pano and what you want to do. it seems that you want to simply add a hotspot that will move to another pano, open a moview in a new window, open an html page, etc... you can do that with java viewers now. pureplayer by immervision is HIGHLY customizable.

beer panos might be an interesting topic, i tend to have interesting ideas while drinking

ok, here is a challenge, a pano from inside a beer can or bottle!!! full or empty is up to you laugh laugh laugh

the grandaddy of all beer panoramas would be the oktoberfest panos, there are a lot online, just google it.

hey Sanjay, nice pano man!

a few tips if ya don't mind.

1) there is a stiching error (or parallax) on the edge of the dock next to your logo, right next to and on those yellow lights.

you can correct this if you want to with the warp tool in photoshop cs2 but you will also have to copy and paste in the right light as it is cut in half.

2) minor parallax on one of the boats (the one with the TX9783CU) and major on the other one in front of it (on the hull and the railings). also a few stitching errors on the other boats beyond those 2.

3) did you patch the zenith? i ask because of the discoloration of a circular section of the sky. it looks like you patched it without blending well instead of including the zenith in your stitching project.

hey Savak.

hope it gets through customs.

if it does not, you are looking at about 19-21% with VAT and import duties very surprised

problem is, if you were gonna buy from u.s.a., you should have bought it at www.thecamerabox.com for $620.00 (including shipping) which is approx. 495 euros.

another problem with them tagging it gift is the value. even a 610 euro gift can be taxed. and if they declare it as worth a lot less and it is lost in transit, you are out of luck.

thanks Robert.

did they close the place for you and keep people out while you shot? i ask because you must have spent quite a bit of time in there and there are no people in the panos.

you wrote...

"use mirror lockup to get even more stability"

... and i know you said you used a cable release but for those of us without a cable release, would the self timer not do the same thing? (reduce any movement upon pressing the shutter release).

So YES you can save but do you get to sleep well at night.

yes! especially knowing that it still has a 1 year international warranty and i can buy 2 of them from u.s.a. for the same price of 1 here in spain.

the 10.5 i got is not grey market, it is simply a nikon u.s.a. lens with the extended u.s. warranty for u.s. and 1 year international.

worse comes to worse my mom and dad live in u.s. so if it dies, i can always send it to them to have them service it as if i never left the states with it laugh

i do get your point about the warranty but disagree about lens failure, i think you have had a run of bad luck and that normally lenses do not drop off like that.

if you prefer the sigma, go to www.thecamerabox.com and search for "sigma 8mm".

they have a few and they do take foreign cred. cards (i used a spanish one).

if you want, e-mail Orders@thecamerabox.com and tell Anna "jeremy from madrid" recommended you to her (i have no economical interest in this, they simply offer EXCELLENT service and prices). hope she remembers me as we were e-mailing back and forth quite a bit. make sure you ask her if it is in stock since they do not always have time to update their site regularly.

sigma is $579.00 there.

yes, both the nikkor 10.5 and sigma 8 will blow your FC-E8 out of the water.
