Thanks Pete, ya done well. I will one day get around to making the small panohead to use with the Sigma 8mm and monopod to save carryin the tripod. I plan to make a bracket to clamp around lens at the nodal point, have a screw fittin for monopod and fixed angle slightly up to take zenith shot. Its just getting the time to do it but if it works out it should make takin candid shots easier. My manfrotto 055Pro with leveller is way too heavy! Thanks, john G.

Great stuff Peter, so how about a little info on your setup, that is always interesting to me. How many shots around etc and tripod? The people seem as though you are not there ! I have had that in a few instances with my fisheye as you aim one way and no one knows they are in the shot, but I have used my tripod in the past and it all seems very heavy to carry around sometimes. I just returned from Somerset and could of taken some wonderful panos but regretfully didnt take the equipment, only the body and kit lense Any help or tips would be grateful and maybe more of us will have a go at a few 'people panos'. Cheers, John G.

I see, you mean you shoot 4 around at +5 or shoot 4 around and 1 at +60?

Hi.
Some good tips all so thank you. I have never considered or tried the zenith at plus 60 so will try this. But then not sure why you need to shoot the main images at plus 5, if you then take a shot at plus 60. Looks like it is best for me to spend some time finding out what is best for me and my equipment, and yes, seem like it really depends on the environment being shot as to what would be the best method for the particular shoot. Thanks, John G

Angle up or angle down?

Hi all, been a while but been nosing around at the threads lately and have seen some mention of aiming lens down instead of up as i have been doin. My set up is canon 400d, sig 8mm and tcp short. I usually take 4 shots around angled slightly up and bodge the nadir. (copy paste a bit of floor across, not ideal). I would like to start to take more care and get some better results so my question is what do you all do, or think i should be doing to get a better 180 by 360. Aim up a few degree, have a bigger nadir? Aim down, take a shot up maybe? A shot down (time consuming) ? Take more shots? Also I may drill out the tcp short pano head to allow another angle up, how many degrees should i put the hole at in the pano head, those with this type of pano head should know what i mean. Thanks for any replies, John G.

Gus, great job, especially in the time it took. As you say, a little tweaking and your done.
I could lose my family in that house!
I really like it, hope you made out of it, if not it is sure to look good in the portfolio. How may shots? As the nadirs look pretty good, did you say they were just hand held? Then what did you do with them? Stitch as normal or flatten etc. Can we have a simple work flow cheers, John G.
