You'll be taking 6 shots around at 0°, one up (zenith) and one down (nadir) for a 360x180° panorama which I'm assuming is what you are after..
www.vrwave.com/panoramic-lens-database/sigma/
So you would use the 45/60 detent ring on the 60 side. Believe it comes with the NN3.

Bradeye,
You don't need a ball head right away, you can simply level by adjusting the legs. The ball head (for me) makes it quicker and easier.
It does make your nadir footprint larger though, (see photo) so it'll be a little more work to patch. My choice of the two would be the 496RC2, shorter, lighter, smaller yet able to support 6.0kg. Also take a look at the 494 Mini Ball Head.
The NN3 is all you need to get started, you can decide later (after practice) if you need the RD16. It's always better imo to get the minimal equipment until you determine if you will stick with the hobby.
Looking forward to your first pano...

Sounds like a great deal, the software alone must be worth the price. I'm betting this goes fast!

John Hawkins said: Just because he wants $160,000 doesn't mean he is going to get it. Unless you have a burning need for the extra few degrees view, there is no reason to buy that lens.
And the simple fact that it looks too easy to scratch/damage the lens makes one wonder why anyone would risk a purchase.

Dorin is the winner. If you have a 550d and don't have MagicLantern, you are missing the boat.

Jon, agree 100%... The guy that manages the site has been on top of things, making improvements often so maybe some of those things are planned. Can only hope.
I also thought it was a great idea and have tried to steer people that are just starting out with DSLR photography to that site.

Changing the speed (shutter speed) changes the exposure. Here is a good resource to practice general photography without leaving the comfort of home.

This site should be bookmarked/favorite of every one that is interested in photography.

Hi Jeff, Visited your website and have to admit I love the partial panoramas as well. Most people start with partial panos before trying Sphericals later on. I'm sure you came here to improve and there are some very knowledgeable people here who are able and willing to help. I'm a beginner myself (not really a beginner, more like a "seasoned" slow learner)
There are some issues I see that you may consider as first steps to improve. Most noticeable first.
1) Some of your panos are overexposed, most notably the one here: locations.jeffravage.com/?p=99 - Main Field, Florissant Fossil Beds
2) You should clean your sensor, there are several "dust bunnies" visible in the skies.
3) Some panos are not stitched very well and it looks like you are shooting in "Auto" as some shots are not blending properly. You should shoot in "Manual" after determining the best exposure so all the photos are the same.
4) Crop your panos before publishing them. They are much more presentable after cropping out the blank spaces.
Are you using a pano head? What equipment do you shoot with? Have you considered PTGui vs Photoshop?
I'm hoping you take all this as cc, not looking to upset or discourage you, I feel your panos have potential with a few corrections.

Hobby or serious for pay panoramas? And what type of panoramas, 360x180° or partial panoramas?
I like your choice of tripods as I have the 055xprob myself and am very happy with it.
The heads you mention though, are not serious panorama heads but are simply ball heads. They will not be able to properly allow the lens to rotate around the "no parallax point". In some landscape panoramas where the subject is very distant, that is not a problem, but if there are objects closer to the lens, parallax becomes a problem with those heads. Here is a good explanation of the subject. www.johnhpanos.com/epcalib.htm
Personally, I use a Manfrotto 488rc2 ballhead to quickly level my Nodal Ninja 3 MKII, but the ball head is not needed really as you can just level using the tripod legs or level in PTGui. store.nodalninja.com/index.php/pano-heads/nn3/nn3...
Edit: Sorry Dennis, you beat me to it!

Colin, How did you shoot the nadir shots. IMG_3440 and IMG_3443 look like the same orientation but the tripod is moved. Were you intending to shoot two nadirs @ 180°? are you using the nadir adapter from nn?
You should shoot 6 around (one row) at 0° plus zenith and nadir with your setup, from vrwave.com: Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Recommended (full-frame): N, 6 images every 60° at 0°, Z
