I recently bought a Canon 5d and I am trying to get it setup and running. My Equipment:
Canon 5D sigma 8mm F3.5 NN3
I am try to figure out the correct setting for ther nodal ninja. When i go to their site it says to set the NN3 upper rail to 89.5, but when i do that setting i can see the edge of the rotator arm on the NN3 in the frame.
I am wonder if anyone else has this setup what setting do they use?
Thanks Mike www.360pics.ca

I believe that you took his comment out of context. I response to my post he wrote in comparison to the 30d it is an inferior camera. There is nothing wrong with the 300d you will get a lot of great photos with it. It lacks a few of the minor features that allows finer control but overall it is a great camera

John,
Is there a good tutorial on control points and manually correcting stitching errors on PTgui? I can't seem to find a good one

A couple of things:
1. I have tried Real viz and it is a little more user friendly but i find the results i get from PTgui are just as good. You can't even begin to compare the costs of the 2 Real viz is ridiculously overpriced. Ptgui is way more powerful once you learn how to use it (which I am struggling with)
2. It is true that I am doing real estate Vtours but getting away with less shots is way better as most of the time my clients are waiting for me to finish and lets face it time is money. Less shots=happier customer.
On lighter note john , i see you were at mount Washington I grew up in the comox Valley it was nice to see a pano of that mountain! I skied that mountain for at least 10 years as a kid. What were you doing there? visiting?

Like any good photos you need to understand the basics Lighting, exposure, composition ect. The first example is based on good digital pictures and obviously someone who knows how to take pictures. One thing I do is shoot in RAW mode to give me more control over things like exposure and white balance. The other thing I do which most other panoramic photographers don't do is I use a flash with a diffuser to get even light in the rooms I shoot. I do mainly Real estate vtours and it is necessary to control the light as some homes are very dark. I am still learning but i do quite a few a week that I should get better after all practice is perfect!
Can you post a link of some of your panos?

Shot with 5 shots around 72 degrees and had no real problems just a couple of minor mis alignments. I guess 5 around will give me a better guarantee of no mistakes. Have a look you can see some minor stitch issues.

Personally I had used the Kaidan vr one and i think it provided me with great shots. I used hdr 5 bracketed shots and my results were great for a one shot lens. my setup is Nikon 8700 Kaidan VR 1 Manfrotto prox xb.
