I have the Sigma 10-20 and D50 and have used it with my NN3 and PTGUI just fine, no fine tuning or anything. I think you should eliminate the + and - shots and just do the X number of shots (17?) around on one plane and try stitching those first so you at least get something done. Don't shoot RAW for your first pano, and don't do anything with them in Nikons software. Just shoot the correct number around on level plane in jpg/medium size mode, load into PTGUI and bam, it will work 100% as long as you have a good tripod and NN3 or some other pano head. Even handheld should get you fairly good results outdoors - indoors you need a pano head in my opinion.

They look pretty good to me. The only reason it is not as crisp in full screen is because the file size isn't big enough. Looks perfect at a smaller size and then stretched for the full screen. You could have it load a smaller size like it does currently and then link to a larger size when someone clicks on the full screen button? Or just use a larger one to begin with but then everyone has to wait for a large file to download.

OK, I guess you used the fisheye because I tried it with mine and it worked great. I did this very fast, probably about 30 minutes from taking photos to processing so it is not perfect. I just wanted to get the concept down. I am not sure why more people don't do it?
Here is my example of the stagecoach we have in the backyard of the ranch:

Thanks Dennis for this great idea.

Alright, I cut the pics in 1/2 so it should be easier to read.
Dennis - Did you use your fisheye or regular lens for the object pano?

They definitely have been promising it for a long time and I agree it is very, very frustrating!!!! Hopefully it will at least be done right when it is done though.

I too use 3dvista and if you take a look at there forum, there new viewers coming out soon look very nice. It utilizes Flash 9 and is much smoother. Here is an example I have been working on, not perfect because it is a beta realease but as you can see it is much better quality. Try the fullscreen view to see the new features as well. The fullscreen quality of the pano is not the best as the size of the pano I used is not sufficient but check out the new way it displays it.
The update should be free for you or min of $50? Not sure really?

Hi John,
I agree 100% if you are viewing it as large as those panos are. However, the site I am using it on the pano is presented much, much smaller and I just didn't want it to be to dark. In the larger format it does look to fake and "HDRish". Here is the page it is presented on:
stagecoachtrailsranch.com/virtual_dude_ranch_tour... (Guest Room W/1 Queen Bed)
The other thing is that people on this forum know what HDR looks like but to your average Joe Website user, they have no idea and I just wanted it to be a bit brighter - but from a technical standpoint it definitely is too fake looking.
Thanks for the tip on the smartblend, I will have to try that!
Dennis, I forgot to ask - Did you use your standard lens for the object pano of the house, or the 10.5? Thanks, as I want to try this out on Tuesday.

Hey, that outside "object type" tour is very cool and frankly something I never thought of doing! I can't wait to test it tomorrow or the next. It is a perfect way to showcase the outside of the house just as you did. How far did you move your tripod each time? What settings did you use in Pano2QTVR - Individual Images? Strip? or Sequence? Any guidance would be great help.
For HDR all I have been doing is taking 2 pics, 1 with the windows blown out and then one that is completely dark except just the window with perfect exposure - then using Photomatrix "Combine Highlights & Shadows - 2 images" and it comes out great - then If I need to I use the Image>Adjustments>Highlights&Shadows feature in Photoshop to adjust the lighting. I know this is kinda cheating but it works and you could probably take 1/2 the amount of photos. Below is an example:
This one is "camera natural" with windows blown out:
This one is using the "camera natural" shots and the "window only" shots and combining them in PhotoMatrix H & S - 2 images
This one is taking the previous combined image and tweaking it in PS using the Image>Adjustments>Shadow/Highlight feature
Example of a "window only" shot:
Can't wait to try the object pano! Thanks. Jeremy

I have used Show 2.0 quite a bit and If I understand you correctly it is very possible. For every individual tour I do I publish it (name it "index") to a separate folder on my hard drive. Then I copy and paste that entire folder named - "xxxxxx" onto my server. I separate all the tours by client name so for example the tour address would be: www.virtualtourmedia.com/homes/awdr/flash/369547/...
This prevents you from having a million files in your root directory which is what I think you are trying to prevent? I hope that helps.

Wow, that is a great site and exactly what I was looking for. It is way "over my head" for right now and I will stick with the ground for right now. Aerial pano's are amazing and a lot of respect to you all that do it.

I like the other poster just don't understand how this is possible on a "RC Chopper." Could you post some pics of your setup? Knowing how difficult it can be when on ground with a tripod I just can't comprehend how this works. It is fascinating and exciting and I would love to be able to do it myself.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

OK, This is absolutely fascinating! I just don't understand how the heck you take all the pics on top of a rc chopper that high in the air. I have a hard enough time with my tripod on the ground?
Please, please explain this in a little more detail. It is so cool...thanks for posting your images!
