I use both pc and mac.
Give the mac 6 weeks. Then, the less you use the pc/windows the happier you'll be.
And generally the mac is faster at most things. (is that flame bait or what )
In the end, you can install windows on your mac. So get a mac, you won't regret it.

Thanks Carel! Looking forward to seeing more of your panos there.

Carel
The new authors are coming in fast! But there is plenty more space for everyone else.... big cities included. Sure, there might be some panos from London or LA, but we are welcoming anyone, who wants to publish content from anywhere! (pending a quality review, of course)
Regarding the Google Earth pano viewer - yes, the serious drawback with it is that you can't zoom out very far - the FOV is stuck at 60 (or maybe less, i don't know) degrees.
If you're interested in having your say about this, and trying to get it changed, please go to this page - code.google.com/p/earth-issues/issues/detail?id=25
and be sure to click the STAR at the top left of the page (next to 'issue 25') if you don't STAR it your comment won't really count, as I understand.

Yes, I know. We'll get there. We are too few people with too much work. But this is changing soon (the too few people part, I guess we'll always have too much work)
If you want to join our forum Ergec, I'll be happy to hear your suggestions.
thanks for the kind words! Jeffrey

Hi Ergec,
The Google Earth layer gets updated about once a day currently. New images do need to be reviewed by a human (me or someone else over here) before they will appear on Google Earth (it's got an audience of some hundreds of millions of people, so we need to be careful that nothing offensive goes up).
And not every image that goes on the site will go on the google earth layer, but most will.

360 Cities is now featured in Google Earth.
Here is the announcement from Google - google-latlong.blogspot.com/2008/11/360-degree-pa...
Here is the announcement from 360Cities: 360cities.net/new_360cities_content_integrated_wi...
All you need to do is open Google Earth (no upgrade needed, as long as you have 4.2 or later) and click on 'Gallery' and then you will see 360cities there - just check the box to activate the layer.
If you would like your panos to show up automatically for all 400 million or so users of Google Earth, then you should join 360 Cities!
360cities.net/account/join (note: becoming a full member does require uploading some panos, and then an approval process by humans, so please be patient!)
enjoy

Henri Smeets said: Jeff, maybe it's wise to show/explain what exactly you are selling, not just the result of what it is capable of. Before people are willing to spend $500 they need to be sure it's worth it.
Henri, as stated on the web page, (where there *is* a full explanation!) this is a work in progress, it needs refinement. I am not the only person working on such a device, and I would prefer to keep some of the information about it private, for now. I hope you can understand that. If anyone has specific questions about the size / weight / dimensions, they can always contact me.
The demos are intended to show what the camera is currently capable of. If you like it, and want the first chance to use this very exciting device, then please contact me.
The response so far has been quite amazing, I will wait a few more days before closing this round....
Soon we can look forward to some interesting immersive videos from many places in the world. that's exciting!!

Hmm, that's strange.
Has anyone else had the same problem? ON the few computers I've tried, the image shows after about 10 seconds...
