Nice work John! Congrats! Good luck in your business! (only one thing; I have a pretty good internet connection and the movement in panoramas isn't smooth at all [ragged]- WinXp Pro, IE7). Eugen.

Hi,
DPI is only relevant when you are actually printing, what determines the file size is the pixel dimensions. So, if you are keeping the same numbers of pixels, you are not actually changing a low res to a high res file. When you print, if you are telling the printer to print to a certain size of paper, it will set the DPI of the file to cover the size that is required. 72 DPI is screen resolution and say 300 DPI is a good amount for an A4 print(?). This is how I see things, somebody please tell me if I'm wrong! Eugen.

Hi, If you have Windows and using Firefox or IE7, instead of normal left click use the scroll (middle button) click. It will open a new tab. Eugen.

Ira said: So do you think you have to REMOVE that rear filter, put the red one in, and then reinstall it again? I thought that the rear filter would have a thread on it and the colored one would go on TOP of that. So I got concerned that maybe the thread was missing.
Yes, you have to remove the UV and replace with the color. There is no other way...
Ira said: Since I'm doing this with 16mm frame size, I'm not GETTING 180 degrees anyway. I'm getting a little bit less than 90, which means the holder won't be caught in frame.
Yes, you are correct, with cropping factor you don't have 180 deg. and it could be possible to mount the filter in front of the lens using a home made holder for the Cokin square filter. What camera body are you using?

Hi Ira, Welcome on Pano side! The Peleng is a nice lens but I've seen only 3 types of filters for it(colored: light red, light yellow, dark yellow -diameter is 26.5mm) Sometimes this 3 filters are included when you buy a new lens, otherwise you can buy them separately for aprox. 20$ or so... tiny.cc/rSbYJ The rear filter can be removed from the lens easier if you take apart the adapter(if you have one mounted on the lens - EOS, Nikon, Olimpus etc.) and use a tool like a pliers. You say you want to use ND filter but this will be possible only if you make one from the above mentioned 3 filters. In front of an 8mm fisheye the only way to mount a filter is to have a filter like the lens cap... to cover those 180 degrees
All the best, Eugen.

Hello and welcome on Pano-land!
A few questions: how many shots do you have? 360 degrees? 360x180? If so, Photoshop CS3 can not handle it! Only if you have CS4 eventualy! Please try a free program like Hugin or a free to try software like PTGui(many panographers use this one).

...have done the "pole test" etc and found a point where there was no shift (apparent to my eye) in foreground and background objects.
Looks like you have a good equipment and if you did find the "entrance pupil" point, than one of this two programs should handle the stitching process... Also please have a look at this site, it has a lot of explications: www.rosaurophotography.com/html/technical0.html try all the links, you can easily learn everything from there. If you have other questions... here's the place for them!
All the best, Eugen.
