Dorin,
It must have been in the process of making the tree features more visible. I have reverted back to the original images.

You are right - I was using f/16. I will do some more Peleng shots at lower f numbers and let you know how they come out. Thanks for you help.
Thanks to Dorin for re-working my photos for the first pano to produce a much better quality:

Thanks to Dorin for re-working my photos to produce the pano below. It's great to have people like you. Thanks also to Mark and others for their assistance.

Dorin, I am still expecting your email on how you did this with the same photos I had. Sure I still have a lot to learn in controlling PTGui and working on my photos.

Mark,
Thanks for the help. Yes, I had already found 5 + 1 or 2up + 1down works fine for me. I will keep working on the stitching errors I get for indoor panos with the same outdoor settings. I will post my findings and solution when I find one.

Hans,
Thanks for clarifying the sensor issue of the E-300. Which SLR cameras can get be used with the Peleng to achieve 180 degress vertical field of view?

Mark,
I have sent you a link to the images as captured by my Peleng lens. I think, on the Olympus DSLR, you get about 127 degrees. I do get sufficient stitching overlap like you said but only horizontally and not vertically.
Please, let me know what you can make out from the images. Regarding my home page, that shot was taken before I got the Peleng. I will update it. Thanks for noticing.

Yes, really beautiful place for panos. It was my first visit there and it was weekday with very few people around. I will return on a weekend where there are several weddings and holiday makers to put some more life in the pano. These were all taken with the Peleng. Let me understand well what you want me to do with the first pano at sendspace.com, and I will be glad to do it.

Mark,
The Peleng 8mm fisheye lens in combination with the Olympus E-300 does not achieve a 180 degree FOV. As a result, even at 20 degrees upward tilt, I still get a small hole at the zenith which is not a big problem if all I had was sky. For indoor panos or outdoors where the zenith is not sky I will need an "up" shot or tilt more to get a complete overlap of the shots. However, I realized that when I do a combination of an "up" shot and tilting, the amount of stitching errors vary. After reading your adivise, I tested several tilt positions and seem to get almost perfect stitch with five shots at 20 degrees and one "up shot" at 90 degrees. My nadir hole is larger now because of the tilt but I guess I can always find a way to treat that area - nadir shots and photo editing.
I will keep experimenting on the best combination of tilt angle and the 90 degree zenith shot. I am also not sure if some of these issues can be fixed in PTGui. I am still a rookie, and cannot completely find my way around it yet.

I like it, and the audio really made it come alive.
Dorin, you do not use a fisheye lens for your panos, right? I just bought a Peleng 8mm lens for my Olympus E-300 that allows me to take 6-7 shots for a complete pano (5 plus 2 zenith shots)but I now have more stitching errors than when I used my regular 14mm stock lens with 25-27 shots. The five shots in a row stich fine but my "up" shots always will not align well with the 5 shots. I use a Panasaurus head, and have set the nodal point correctly, I think.
Do you prefer taking 38 shots to using a fisheye lens?
