I got the same results with PTGui Pro trial. =(
I was hoping the HDR is as good or better than Photomatix to significantly reduce my workflow.
I'm hoping the next or future updates will fix it.
Thanks, eagle

Agree with Dorin.
I don't use the level on the pano head. I ignore it altogether.
I use a double spirit level on the camera hotshoe.
BTW, I use the Agnos head and am very happy with it.

Hi,
I just downloaded and tried out the Pro version of PTGUI.
I wanted to see what kind of results I'd get with its HDR feature.
I use Photomatix now, so having this feature built in to PTGui would slash my workflow quite a bit.
After trying it out with various scenes, the results I got were okay. =( They were noticeably not as good as the results from Photomatix.
I'll keep testing it though to see if there are settings I can tweak to deliver the results equal or better to what I get with Photomatix.
I'd appreciate it very much if anyone has found tricks/tips to make the PTGui HDR features sing.
Thanks. eagle

Hi rudders,
I agree. I've also come across a number of folks who think that virtual tours are simply a slideshow of pictures. Frustrating.
Thanks, eagle

Hi,
Dan and Tabb just posted their latest amazing panos taken with remote controlled model helicopters.
I've read about rigs taken from kites, hot air ballons, or helicopters. Dan's and Tabb's however were taken with remote controlled model helicopters.
I'm very much interested in doing such high elevation pano shots.
I did a search here and also on the web but was unable to find any such site or webpage that provides details on taking on such an endeavor.
Would appreciate any help on this please.
Thanks, eagle

Just wanted to thank John Houghton for his detailed procedure.
It improved my workflow 1000% and ultimately the results.
Thanks a bunch.

Hi Rim,
I was in the same boat a few months ago.
Most will likely suggest that you get the D80 for a host of reasons.
I, however, decided to get the D70s kit. I applied the difference to purchasing the other equipment I needed such as the agnos panohead, Sigma 8mm f/3.5 lens, hard case, tripod, etc.
Another reason I got the D70s is because I already have a D70. So, I didn't have to read another manual. =)
No regrets. YMMV.
Thanks, eagle

Excellent site.
Just wondering how the google map, pop-ups, and VTs are integrated.
Is there a program that does all that?
Andy, would you mind sharing how you did the integration?
Thanks, eagle

Hi Morten,
I have a D70s with the Sigma 8mm f/3.5 on an Agnos mRotatorTCPs. I take 4 shots plus zenith and use PTGui with D70 template I created.
With the nodal point correctly aligned and the template for PTGui, I don't have stitching issues.
I too was considering the Nikkor but after consulting various pano experts, I learned that there is little difference between the Sigma f/3.5 (not the f/4) and the Nikkor lens in terms of quality, vignetting, and CA.
So, far I'm very happy with the Sigma. Just my personal experience. YMMV.
Thanks, eagle

Hi alexis,
That's one of the reasons why I chose the Sigma 8mm over the Nikkor 10.5mm lens.
Less shots mean less time.
