I recently bought the 10.5 Nikon, it's an amazing lens. As said earlier, without panohead it's nearly impossible to make a decent hires pano. (unless you're in the middle of the grand canyon )

They do it using javascript, nothing fancy IMHO. Nice though.

Thanks guys. I need to get used to all the functionality of PTGui, there's more than I thought. I know my way in PS but that alone ain't enough to make perfect pano's. I find that the technical articles in the documentation of PTGui is hard to understand for me since english isn't my native language. regards, Henk

The upper is now set at 87,5 mm and this seems to be the exact point. Since accuracy seems to be so amazingly important (I have the feeling only parts of a mil already shows parallax error) I think it may be wise to glue the rubber plate to the arm, or even the whole camera

OSP found! I was pretty much near where it should be, it's at 51MM. Tomorrow further testing to find the optimal setting for the upper rail assembly

Smooth, you're an artist man! Thanks for the tips, I'll try out your tutorial for finding the OSP. What you see in the images, is my upper rail setting of 86mm OK? or does that on, with the given combo needs adjustment as well?
Also, I will try shooting 6 shots at -10, 2 at 65 up (easier on the skyshot ain't it?) and a nadir. I saw an article on removing tripod shadows somewhere too, thats the cream on the pudding I guess.
Thanks!
regards Henk

Hello,
Can anyone with this combo help me out on this one. I have just bought the 10.5 Fisheye from Nikon. Having read several articles around the forums about Nodal point settings for the NN3 I'm a bit lost. (Im a newbie to pano photography). NN's website states 55mm lower rail but this seems too much! Having adjusted to 50 mm it looks to be fine.
Upper rail is set at(?), looks like 86:
Also some websites state that the NP is just behind the golden ring on this lens so it looks ok?:
Still I'm having troubles with parralax please look at this image.
I uploaded my image set, for review. Maybe I am overlooking something here I really don't know. Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
Maybe other Pano enthausiasts can enlighten me a little Owning a 10-20 Sigma DG lens, would it be, qualitywise, a good switch tto a Nikon 10,5 Fisheye lens? Will panorama's from the Nikon be any better in any way than the 10-20? I can buy one used but don't know whether it is worth the switch..
regards,
Henk

I was afraid that this was the case, looking at the size of that lens/camera setup. It would be a killer setup since that lens is amazingly sharp on my D300. Guess I'll have to stick with my 10-20 sigma for now ;-( Thanks anyway!
