Thanks James, You confirmed my findings.
I have pano2vr, a great programme, but takes a lot longer to build a multi scene tour with multi maps, multi scene descriptions etc. Works a treat, but such a pain to work with on a day to day basis, producing one or two property tours per day.
Panotour is a nice looking program, but adding scene texts is a coding issue, and again, such a pain.
Having to build separate tours for different devices is again a pain in the proverbial.... and the client probably will not pay the extra for the extra work involved...
Ok, will probably have to wait for the software boys to catch up with the developments in device technology....
Hope your keeping well.... best regards
Richard

Hi James.
I have been a user of TW for many years, but never upgraded as was always disappointed by the continuous bug fixing AFTER release. Also the price. Can it really do all my demands, including android operating systems, iPhone and iPad etc? I presume you mean V7. I have tested v6.5 and it does have issues with Android devices, and the only way round that appears to be to reduce the image file size. Not ideal without sacrificing quality. When I read the forum posts it looks like V7 is not quite there yet. I may be wrong.
Best Regards Richard

Hi Guys,
An obvious question, and Im sure to get some controversial replies.
Is there such a thing as a truly universal Virtual Tour software that will allow: 1. Multiple panoramas. 2. Multiple floorplans 3. Text Box linked to each panorama for scene description. 4. Navigation devices, such as thumbnails, dropdowns etc 5. Directional sound 6. Google Map integration. 7 Video embedding.
All within an easy to use GUI ( i.e. no great demand for code experience)
AND (and this is the real challenge) Output viewable on all current devices such as Ipad/iPhone/Android Phones/ PC etc...
From what I can see, all current software falls down on one or more of these "demands" but correct me if Im wrong.
Regards
RS

3 shoots a week down time? That depends on what the "shoots are worth"
Like Stu, we are kept busy most of the time, but as we operate in a different market, we would not be happy with just 3 shoots a week.
We normally like 8 to 10 a week, but the value of each shoot is probably less that Stu's.
Yes we have down time (in that we are not processing of shooting.) but in almost 6 years we have hardly had a day off.
So time fillers might be, Marketing. Contacting clients, researching new ideas. Keeping up with Technology. SEO, Web design. Of course there is always new products that need developing, new opportunities that need following up etc etc.... Down Time. No thank you. What would I do with myself.....we are having too much fun for "down time"

Hi Mark,
My advice would be "dont give up the day job"
Its a tough world out there in any line of business. The UK Market is over saturated with "virtual Tour photographers" often franchisees of established companies all hoping to make a living. The market is in the deepest recession for generations.
www.360Virtual-Tours.net has been providing virtual tours for over 6 years and its still tough.
All the best of luck.

Peronally Jacquie, PTGui may appear at first a little difficult to use, but frankly it is so simple, and an extremely good stitching programme. At the price, its hard to beat.

Hi Brock,
Try pointing the camera slightly upwards. I use a Canon 400 + Sigma 8mm and angle the camera 7 degrees to the vertical. This eliminates the need to shoot the sky, and only slightly increases the size of the hole around the tripod, which you need to edit anyway.
Works for me.
