Newto3D said: Ok, cheers Ill have a look...Basically I would like to know what people use to publish their panoramas...Software etc to make the pano tours, with buttons, fullscreen mode, gallery of panos etc....So Ide appreciate some comments, suggestions, advice about the best way to achieve this.
Take a look here: www.easypano.com/tourweaver125.html
It offers everything your talking about, and more, and I read on here recently they will soon release a version or update that can incorporate videos into the tours.
You can start of with a tour window of any size (example 450Wx250H) and when you doubleclick on the viewer it goes full screen, or it can start off at full screen. Check out the demos they have on the site.
Its fairly easy to learn, and easy to put on a site.

Removing the lens cap ring? Um, it fell off when I was playing with the lens, (you know, seeing what moves and what doesn't, and looking up what the moving parts do).
I immediately cursed at Sigma for charging so much for such a cheaply made lens, was mad at you all for recommending such a cheaply made lens , and jammed it back on so it wouldn't come off .
I just don't remember reading anything about taking it off, and I probably would have missed even if it was in black and white thinking they were refering to the cap itself. I sure am glad you mentioned it THANK YOU!!!!!
Raining all day again today, but will be out tomorrow shooting.

Gentlemen, thanks for the help in this matter.
My experience in Virtual Tours is using a one shot lens, and I have decided to get into the high resolution side of things. This is a huge learning curve for me. I am an automotive mechanic by trade which has given me the funds to get into this venture.
I JUST got my gear together to start shooting! It took me a month to get Johns tutorial figured out (successful stitch 3 times in a row) using HIS Photos. This IS NOT to say that the tutorial was wrong, but because I have self defeating ability to make things that appear to be complicated 10 times more complicated than they really are.
So, since I was able to stitch his photos in PTGui, I was trying to emulate the way he took his photos in the tutorial. The only difference between his gear and mine is that he uses a Canon EOS 20D, and I have a 40D, and don't know if there is a difference in the camera/lens parimeters between the 2 cameras. I'm assuming there is.
I can't get a cloudless night to shoot the stars and do his Chapter 4 tutorial (lens calibration), so I was using the Automatic EXIF data setting, which is probably not helping. I'm to chicken to ask what other folks settings are with the same equipment.
Matter of fact, I'm not even 100% sure know if my NN5L or camera is set up correctly. I am still sorting out 20 pages of threads I copied from here of settings, adjustments, opinions, and other helpful tips, not to mention manufacturers suggetions from thier websites and forums.
I honestly thought I had a good idea of what the heck I was doing because of all this previous research, but as usual, its just not going to be that easy!
I am working my way through the learning process by determing what I have that is "Known" and working my way through the unknown, which at this point isn't a whole lot, except I can stitch Johns photos and come up with one heck of a panorama.

John H. is right, the last shot at 270 degrees, I tilted the camera up to 90 degrees. I'm trying to use the "Keep it simple stupid" approach, so when I do get things working right, I know how I did it.
The 5 degree option didn't work much better. I have the kaleidoscope effect mastered, with little effort at all .
So, I ended up with 3 failed shoots for the day .
John H., I used the Automatic (use EXIF data from camera, if available) option because it worked well when I stitched your photos together. I'll be reading the PTGui manual a bit more thoughly tonight.
Thanks for the replies! I have a nice long weekend to get things straighted out!!

I finally got all the gear together, and did a successful stitch using JohnHPanos.com 1st tutorial and his photos.
Nordal Ninja 5L: I center the bubble at 0 degrees, and when rotating at 90/180/270 the bubble in the bubble level goes outside the black line, but not to the very edge of the bubble level. Is this normal? How bad will it screw up stitching in PTGui?
I did my 1st test with the new equipment, and it ended in a miserable failure. PTGui and I manually can't find control points for the Zenith to match any of the other 4 photos, so PTGui sticks it in the middle (#2 of 5) shots So I'm out to test a 5 degree up angle shot, which if I remember the thread I can't find correctly, will eliminate the Zenith shot. Is this correct?

Info about Tourweaver: jimmyd,
In Tourweaver, if you doubleclick on the viewer screen itself (lets say 450Wx250H), it launches the full screen view automatically in both the flash and java options (I post both). So your clients viewers will have the best of both worlds. Of cource, if you choose not to have this function, you can turn this option off in the Publishing Setup menu.
All the above is with my experience using Tourweaver using a one shot lens image file. I will be working on using a high res example in Tourweaver this weekend. (I finally got the JohnsHPanos.com example to stitch right in PTGui.) Tourweaver has some great High Res examples on the site, so I'm no to worried about it working!
I agree with you the price is a bit steep for private label, (I was actually livid until I got it) but I do love the part where everything in the viewer is editable, and your imagination (alright, my imagination) is the only limit!
So, with all that being said, keep in mind the hourly rate for a web designer, (and very few have delt with virtual tour skins) and the fact that every client on the face of the earth will want the Virtual Tour colors to match thier webpages, Tourweaver is worth its weight in GOLD.
Then you will undoubtedly wait weeks for the designers to send you the final product (due to previous workload and the fact they want you to know just how difficult it is to do, therfore making you feel it is worth the bill your paying). PLUS, I believe it is just plain part of the customer service package your offering.
In conclusion, Tourweaver helps you get the client, (the additional options you can include in thier tour), and MOST IMPORTANT, it keeps YOUR $ in YOUR pocket instead of the web designers.
I just wish Tourweaver would fix my little issue .

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to make a Cylindrical Photo like the ones I have listed at: www.360ipt.com/logohelp.htm .
I would like to use it on my business cards, because the logo I currently have "looks like I offer a slideshow"
I like the angle of the 1st photo.
I think the 2nd photo on the page was taken from a PanoGuide user's website. I'm not trying to use it, so please don't get mad! I just wanted to use it as an example, because trying to EXPLAIN what I wanted wasn't getting me anywhere. I can't get a graphics designer to touch the project, and this is my 4th month trying to create it on my own with no success.

Doug,
After my 0-360VirtualTours.Com fiasco, I descided to play it safe. I did register 360 Internet Panoramic Tours along with 3 6 0 I P T, figuring the former was hard for others to spell correctly over the phone.
I wanted a name I could use to expand out to other areas. Having an Area Specific name, means more websites to maintain/billing/labor/training issues, however having an Area Specific name does have its pro's.
The business plan is using Toledo as a launching point, eventually leading to a Corporate Headquarters in the Lake Erie West Region. The failure of the business plan so far, is counting on the Greater Toledo Region to support 3 6 0 I P T to the point it can expand. But I haven't given up!

Mike, Thanks for the info, and will take you up on the test projects. Right now I'm still working on johnpanos.com's tutorials. I'm a bit tied up right now updating my paying clients pages from "Old Viewer" to "New Basic Viewer", but will get back to the tutorials soon. If you send me an e-mail though here, I will send a reply so you can attach the test projects! I really want to learn the software, so when I get the camera I can concentrate on learning the hardware.
What I like most when viewing johnpanos.com's projects, is that he almost eliminates the waves found in most High Res Virtual Tours. I want to know if it is the hardware, software, or attention to detail when using both that make this possible?

Doug, I started out with 0-360VirtualTours.Com, however to make a long story short, after publishing the website, business cards, postcards, and marketing materials, I needed help with something from the lens maker 0-360.com, who helped me with the problem and along with it sent a cease and desist letter for name infringment. It worked out in the long run because getting people to type it right was darned near impossible, so that is why I chose the acronym 3 6 0 I P T. I have thought of trying VirtualTourToledo and 360Toledo, but after my 1st lession, didn't want to run into the same problem.
I built and maintain my own website. Its INTENT is to be a "Cookie Cutter" look, with more personal looks available to those willing to pay for it. Right now I am offering free Virtual Tour Business Directory Listings for 1 year to locally owned and operated businesses, using the 1 shot system. (Moderately successful) I want to offer a High Res option for clients that want it, but must pay up front. I will do site seeing tours within the Greater Toledo Region using the High Res, to help sell it.
I think the way I am currently publishing my Tourweaver Viewers (in the business directory in green highlight), the High Res will work out just fine & the cool thing is that with the Java option, if they click on the viewer, it automatically goes full screen, it just looks like crap with the One Shot!
Thanks for your input 360Steve

Uh, Tony Packo's! I have Packo's At the Park on my site, I really should update thier viewer!! For some reason they won't let me in the Original location
As far as High Res goes, all I need to do is sit down and learn it. Its a bit intimidating, but I have come a long way in 4 years considering I'm a mechanic by trade, and still is one. I got into this Virtual Tour stuff as a way out of wrenching. I'm not a patent man, just a really darned stuborn one, and when I make up my mind to do something, I'll figure it out.
Thanks for your input!

I live in Holland Ohio, just outside Toledo Ohio! Google "The Flying Bean Perrysburg Ohio" if you would like to see the area! I will show up #2! Its all shot with 0-360 lens. If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to become efficient at this? I'm starting to wonder if I can grasp everthing fast enough so I can at least publish a High Res Panoramic of hell freezing over
