Ranjan said: 3. 360Precision adjuste costing USD$ 1100/- too expensive, not sure if I can justify the cost.
Ranjan, I agree with you, it is very very expensive! But for batch stitching, it works like a charm. I bought mine (Absolute not the adjuste) a year ago for D80 + 10.5mm.
So far I made over 1600 panos with this combo and I always get excellent batch stitching using a template! I didn't manually stitch in a year ! for me it paid for it self, because I don't spend any time on manual stitching or correcting stitching errors. and the detent mechanism still work like the 1st day I received it !!!!

Shanti,
You; like many others, guided me through my panorama photography experience over 2 1/2 years ago! But I remember, you helped me alot with my 1st lens: Raynox 185.
Since then I changed many lenses, but I never been so happy and satisfied with a lens like the 10.5

I used the FC-E9, FC-E8 and Raynox 185, before I got the D80+10.5mm
I regret that I didn't buy this combo from day one, instead of wasting the $$ on 3 lenses.
I love the D80 with the 10.5 and I would recommended it to any one. I don't think the extra features in the D200 are worth the difference for a panographer.

1-Stitching is not a big deal, because the PtGui batch stitcher is taking care of it for me. 2-Retouching, I rather doing it my self, because I have more control over it. 3-for fast cheap real estate VTours, there is no enough profit margin to pay for someone else to do the stuff for you. 4-Some companies in north America are offering your services PLUS hosting and publishing, also for competitive prices.

I got rid of the Plienpot pages for now and using only QuickTime with size of 640X480.
Shantic: good advise, I'll try to get a screen size detect script, I hate scripts, but I guess it is a part of our pano life.

You are right. Most likely I.E. doesn't like the combination of the (greyBox or ThickBox) with the web pages produced by plien pot!??
I like the way you did your web site, very nice work. How did you manage to combine both the VR detect script with the GreyBox script, I've been trying but with no success.

Hi Captain Canuck,
It doesn't look like you found the nodal point? Unless I missed something in your post, what you did is having the lens centered, but centering the lens on the tripod won't give you perfect stitching because you need to find the nodal point and that's why you need a panoramic head.
Also your first shot should be leveled; you don't need to level the rest.
I think the panorama option found in many new digital cameras is meant for partial panoramas not a full 360 panos.

Rim,
few months ago, I upgraded to the same combo your getting: D80/10.5 and 360P. I had a manfrotto 190CL with the 488RC2 tripod head. This tripod wasn't steady enough, specially on carpet! so I got the mDeve 755B (which is recommended by the 360P guys) and I can say it is an excellent choice.
regarding the nadir concern, I can tell you that the tripod legs are barely seen, what you will get is the 360P foot print no matter what If you want, I can send you some source images or even a pano so you can judge!

Mostly, you won't be making good $$ with real estate! the agents are too cheap, and in North America real estate VTours are way under priced!!
Also it depends where in Canada and the real estate market in your area! do the research and find out how much does a VTour cost on average in your area??
if the 4 scene VTour is offered for $100 or less by your (to be) competitors, I'd stay away from that market. In my area the cost is between $50-$69 for the 4 scenes VTour, and the agents still think it is expensive!!! When I started, I didn't do my research right. So now to make some $$ to cover my costs, I have to have big volume on a daily basis, and this is not the case!!! Why I'm still doing it?? Because this is a side business, I have another (flexible) full time job. Also I'm trying to penetrate the business tours but it is not that easy.
