Dear all,

Thought people would be interested in taking a look at EveryScape - another company taking panoramas linked to Google Maps. Its like Google's Street View but with an interesting transition technique and 360x180 views...

I've put a post up on it at:

All the best,

Google Releases Panoramas - Street View

Yep take your point Robert.. i guess its impressive in the automation of the process and therefore the number of images intergrated with Google Maps.

Sures its not full 360x180 but its high res with various levels of zoom (6 i think).

I did some work with panoramic movies linked to gps a few years back and to be honest that left me cold, i couldent see the point.

Googles system seems slicker though..

Thought some people would be interested in how the Nokia N95 fairs for panoramas. Its got a 5 mega pixel camera and seems to perform quite well. I have put a tutorial online:

digitalurban.blogspot.com/2007/05/how-to-stitch-p...

I know its not the best solution, but for the days when you dont have your rig with you its a good backup..

I was impressed to be honest.. and you can also geotag each shot.

I've used the following movie as a dreamscene:

It works quite well - its a high definition movie captured from various panoramas rendered in 3D Max..

Thought people would be interested in seeing examples and a tutorial ive written on placing panoramas inside Google Earth.

The images above show the Tate Modern London with a panorama embedded within it - so you can fly inside.

Google Earth is not the best solution (I know so hope i dont get flamed for making it ) but its quite neat.. anyway the files and tutorial can be found at

www.digitalurban.blogspot.com

If you create one i would love to know so i can keep a list of all the locations..

Cheers

Not sure this is a tip/trick but its not a commerical announcement as it'll be free...

Anyway for those interested we have announced a panorama viewer to view panos inside of Google Earth (not in the html browser).

It'll be released in the new year but a movie of output so far can be seen at:
