Tested on my office: Windows 7 64 bits Geforce 7600 GT 4 GB ram
CPU when no movement 0% CPU with movement 7%
VERY good! now when this works on all Video cards and with a full featured virtual tour this will really be VERY cool!
congratulations!

mr vr said: Accessibility is what clients want (you can spout all the %'age data you like, makes no difference to them!), not a less intensive CPU flash player that will make little difference to most.
My god! I can't believe you said "Accessibility is what clients want" and think that HTML5 is the way to go on that matter, are you kidding? or even know what you are saying?
think about it this way
Flash 98% of all computers Html5 0.000001% of all computers
where is your "Accessibility" on HTML5 ?
HTML5 is NOT the same as FLASH so stop repeating what SJ says! SJ HAS to say that, he wants to SELL his iCrap things, of course he is not going to say Flash is better! and BTW I own an iPhone and ALL I REPEAT ALL of the HTML5 demos run like CRAP on it, sure they are a few panorama players that can show you a rotating image but nothing even CLOSE to a Flash Player if any it will be YEARS before HTML5 has anything to even COMPARE to Flash on a browser, the clients might get confused with the HYPE of what Apple is trying to tell everyone, but they will realize once 99% of their clients complain.
in a perfect (fantasy) world SJ statement would hold true in the REAL world, Flash is still king, and this coming from a 15+ years experienced, webmaster that REFUSES to use flash for anything other than panoramas.
HTML5 is said to be lighter as a cloud and faster than a speeding bullet... well show me something that proves that, to date I have not seen 1 demo that shows that, all of the games I've see in HTML5 are crappy ones (except for doom) that run worse than Flash did back in it beginning an use just a little less CPU. HTML5 might be the future, in 2022 like even the W3C says it.
sorry for the rant I am just feed up with this whole HTML5 is going to kill Flash, they are not even the same thing, get the facts straight and the hype out of the way.

Trausti; sorry to rain on your parade, but at least on my computer, the CPU is still going to 70%+ using your pano test in a window... although my Video card is not new it does support OpenGL 2.1 so unless I am missing something there is no 2% on my computer
Windows 7 32 bits Radeon 1500x Video Card 2 Gb of ram AMD 4200+ x2 CPU
Will try it tomorrow on my office with 4gb of ram and a x4 CPU will report then

Mediavets; thanks for the reply
I tried the gigapan software but since I don't own a gigapan, I can't use it, not even try it, it asks for a license
I can't wait for 2.5, sounds like a big improvement
well processing them didn't seem that bad for ICE which turned out a 33gb PSB file I will surely show you the results once I check out the details. :P

Mediavets; you keep saying that (also on the autopano forum) but that its not true, My computer can handle the rendering just fine, as a matter of fact, I am using Microsoft ICE (yeah go figure) and its GREAT it handled my images correctly and its now in the process of rendering my 5.7 gigapixel pano... so your theory of 32bits with little memory does not hold true, sorry. unless you mean Autopano cannot handle it on my computer.
I have the trial version of autopano, but I do find it buggy, but I hope it all gets fixed really soon
also on autopano I did try the gigapan wizard, and it showed great on the "preview" but it ALWAYS crashes on finding control points, tried on a 32 bit with 2 gb of ram and about 1TB free space and on a 64bit 4gb ram and more than 500gb of free space.
I know Ptgui can handle templates, and the problem is that there is a lot of ocean, and sky I don't really feel like deleting control points from hundreds of photos, Ptgui should have a wizard for gigapan, Microsoft ICE and Autopano Giga have them, it would be great of Ptgui would too

I tried registering on the autopano forum but the CAPCHA is a PAIN in the A** I honestly tried about 20 times before giving up.
anyways... I have a panorama (or so I hope) of 971 images, at 300mm using Nodal Ninja RD16 and I downloaded autopano giga trial to see if it would be a good way to stitch them, no matter what settings I try I have tried on 2 different computers one 32bits and one 64bits on both autopano crashes while finding control points... any idea why this might be happening?
I also tried ptgui and it just produced a terrible mess on the Pano after a LOOOOOOOOONNNGGG time :P.
or is there another program that can help me stitch this pano? i would rather try something automated since finding control points in 971 images does not sound like fun :P
Thanks!

Trausti; I think you are on the right path about informing others about the malware
and I get the message too, I event went as far as disabling my AV just to see what happens and disregard a false positive (I am fearless like that :P ) and it is indeed a malware that SHOULD be cleaned ASAP! I've gotten those on some of my websites and they are a pain to deal with...

Piotr:
I know like I said its not 100% secure and doing some tracing can get you the images, but made it as hard as I could for "regular" (whatever that means) people
as for the errors, I am aware of those, and haven't had the time to fix it, but thanks for the reminder

I used PS and merged them, but to be honest I think this is a waste of time for you, since you already gave them the part to "clone" you reduced THEIR work in less-than-half :P
people stealing images are mostly guys that know how to do it, people that don't know what they are doing probably get stop at their tracks with disabling the right mouse button, and they probably don't even know what the print screen button is or does...
I made (I think) a way to at least make it harder for them with our panos at www.mundopano.com (try getting the original images from any pano), using a combination of PHP sessions and .htaccess I manage to create a "serve once" image, its not perfect and you can still find a way to do it, but it takes some time, especially if you are not good and tracing. Of course that does not disable the print screen, but the print screen for panos is more work for them.
The idea is to make it as hard as possible for the "thieves"

That's why I never even considered moblvr is WAY to expensive, 360cities uses an open source JS viewer for iPhone (or so I think) for those interested.
But I do think krpano is and will be the better choice, Klaus has kept up the development like none other! and he is quick to respond/fix things
39 euro for an addon license is not much
