Nice 1st post smile I bet this will come in handy for many, as I have tried a similar approach using my Sigma 8mm, and it works smile

Thanks

I like it the way it is, in fact I think its one of the best forums I visit, super fast, but I do agree with Doug... and I am also willing to "donate" web space to host images for the forum...I have a hosting account with plenty of space, just let me know if its a good idea. I can probably code a simple image hosting script and use it for this forum.

I have to disagree on the sharpness, it is not tack sharp but if focused correctly its not bad either. make sure you are using the correct adapter, mine was to thick so I had to reduce it in a (don't know what they are called in english, but its a shop where they make metal pieces) shop
and always use infinity to focus.

the flare IS a problem, but I dealt with it by placing my hand over the direct light (sun or whatever) than taking one normal, one covering the light and then mask out my hand in photoshop, a little more work, but it works very well smile

But now I have a Sigma 8mm f/3.5 and I would never go back to a peleng, as much as I learned from it smile

All of the panos created with pano2qtvr (on my side, don't own pano2vr) and even the ones on their oficial site, its very wierd, I think it has something to do with the new Flash player version, since thats what all of the pcs I have tried have installed, oh and only happends on IE.

sorry for the hijack, but is it just me (on all of the 5 PC's that I have tried) or is the flash panos created by Pano2qtvr (or was it pano2vr on this pages?) REALLY wierd, movement is bad, and the movement has a delay on them, anyone else with this problem ?

now back to the pano, Gus, I like the HDR attempt I think this is what HDR should be, this looks real and not soo over saturated as many others I have seen.

did you use bracketing or manually set the exposure?

what camera?

I totally agree on the FPP being more for advanced users, but I was just pointing out that 3dvista is not the one that offers "far more versatility than anything else on offer." as Morten says, other than that I agree there is colors for everyone to choose from, and I am pretty sure you can't go wrong with your choice, I've seen samples on all products and I think they all worked excelent for they where intended, I just happend to like FPP better laugh (secretly I just wish it did had a GUI :P )

EDIT: maybe 3dvista offers ease of use with a degree of versatility, but I don't know, i would lean towards TW, as I don't really like the sample shown for 3dvista...just my personal opinion

I am a big fan of Flash mainly for its compatibility and small download size. The quality has improved tenfold over the last twelve months. Show 3 now has a very reasonable full screen viewer that has far more versatility than anything else on offer.

I don't think you've seen the real power of FPP then.

www.gizmoplaza.com/passionforpaintings&shop=194

check that link out.

NOTE: not my work! but it shows the power of FPP, try to make that with Tourweaver or 3dvista, granted,FPP is not as easy, but for versatility, you CAN'T beat FPP no matter what you guys say, and there are a few GUIs poping out smile

hehehe seems everyone has a favourite, I guess it will be the end users choice, but if I was going to spend money on something it surely would not be 3dvista nor tourweaver wink

Skridlov, I usually when nedded don't open the tripod all the way, depending on the terrain you could do it with the tripod just barely open, this leaves a very small tripod foot-print, and then just use a hand held downshot, photoshop it, and you are set, I also tried the method you want but for me, the one I describe is easier and faster.

Hans, thanks for the feedback, The animation actually stops when you click on a pano, so it was only until someone clicked on any markers than it automatically run, but, I took it off all together now, so maybe it will run smoother.

the popup was problem for me, i wanted to use the biggest one I could, but damn greybox redux did not let me use the fullscreen, and i had a lot of problems with normal Greybox, the panos did not dissapeared when you closed it sad

I hate having to use a separate pop-up, but, should I ?

Hans, did you have any trouble closing the panoramas? did the panos close properly? as I mentioned earlier, Safari for windows does not clear the screen sad

Thanks for the feedback!
