Hi all
Is there any advantange in using a shaved Nikon 10.5 on a Nikon D5100?
I currently use 6+zenith+nadir images this gives perfectly good result but have been thinking of shaving as discussed in other threads on this forum.
Thanks Graeme

Hi all
You know the kind of picture with millions of faces lined up on teirs 3 or 4 high. How are these done? I imagine using three or four pictures taken along the line and merged with PTGUI.
Any ideas/suggestions.

Hi Dorin
Thanks for the quick response.
No I don't have the Canon still I had to use it to purchase the Nikon but don't fancy another £150 to up grade to the D5100.
Any thoughts about the subject line? How plausible for resonable results?

Hi all
Been a while since posting but still here.
As the subject indiicates is it worth while considering using this method to get round the lack of bracketing on the D3100?
My experiments taking an indoor shot exposed for inside showed the outside through the window fairly well exposed as well.
What's your thoughts.
I sold my D70 and got a Canon 350D but didn't like the need to manually focus my adapted Nikkor 10.5mm. So bought the D3100 without checking if it bracketed

Hi all
It's been a while since i posted but am keeping upwith things.
I've sold my Nikon D70 and am looking to replace it with something lighter. Currently I'm looking at the Nikon D3000 rather than the D5000, they do seem rather similar. Have you any views/experience about this camera?
I currently also have a Canon 350D with a Tamron 18-200 zoom which performs well. I kept the Nikon 10.5mm lens and bought an adaptor to use it on the Canon but haven't had the opportunity to use it for panorama work. Does this setup work well enough?
My dilemma is do I keep the kit I have or change purely for the sake of keeping it in the Nikon family?
Thanks Graeme

Hi
A followup.
I got the Canon and bought a Tamron 18--200 mm zoom. System works fine except that ...
when I connect the camera to the computer with a USB cable the computer beeps twice in quick succesion but it wont show the camera in Windows Explorer (XP with SP3). Even with the latest software installed from Canon v18.0 it won't connect. I don't want have to always take the CF card out and put it into a reader to transfer files.
Any ideas of what to do?
Thanks in advance
Graeme

Hi all
Its been a while since I last posted but the subject line says it all.
I have the opportunity to aquire a Canon EOS 350D body. Are there any advantages to it over my current D70 other than weight and size. I know my Nikkor 10.5 mm will mount on it with an adaptor, again are there any drawbacks or advantages.
I'm not sure if it 6 or 8 megapixals or not.
Any advice welcome.

My lens cap broke when I dropped the 10.5 mm which survived unscathed. Once back at work I have the priviledge of access to a 3D printer and 3D software so made my own cap since you can't buy them. It fits tighter than the Nikon one and wont just fall off.

What about the lens cap scraping the very top part of the lens. Is this an issue.
