Thanks Hamish and Marc!
Marc: the panoMachine looks very nice, I will consider it for the future.
Hamish: I think your're right, shooting at ISO 800 (if necessary) with the D80 should still be within an acceptable quality range.
I'm using PTGui (I'll definitely use it with SmartBlend after the tip you just gave me).
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
So far, I have only made panos without moving subjects. I usually shoot at F8, ISO 100, using a D80 + 10.5 + 360Precision.
A friend ask me to do some panos with moving people at a event next Wednesday and I'm not sure what settings should I use to avoid blurred faces and bodies.
I'm not so worried about the stitching part. I think I should take as many pictures as possible, choose the best ones and work with Photoshop layers.
I was thinking that it is important to use the fastest shutter speed possible... Not so sure about what ISO would be best... maybe 400? or 800? (these panos will be displayed in full screen so I'm a little worried about using high ISOs and getting too grainy pics...)
And should I shoot RAW? (thinking about how much time it takes the memory card to record a RAW picture I'm thinking shooting in JPG can help me shoot the panos faster...)
I would really appreciate any tips or advices!
Regards,
Rim

Thanks Yvan and Hans. Yvan: very nice website. I really like the FPP quality, are you using the last version (2.0)? Does any one know if you can customize the loading page on Pure Player for flash? or you always have to show the "Pure Player by Immervision logo?

Hello,
I want to start publishing my spherical panos in Flash, but I'm not sure which is the best spherical flash player available... I like the Immevision GUI, but I've heard Flash Panorama Player is more flexible (you can add flash movies and even videos!). I think both have great image quality...
Any suggestions from experienced users? Is there another interesting option in Flash?
Thanks!

John and Rosauro,
Thank you very much for your time and helpful advice! I'll definitely try to use this method in low light conditions. My only concern comes with my pano head (Rosauro was right, I'm using a 360P Absolute), the base is very big, so I think I will have to tilt the tripod a lot to stop the base from covering my nadir. It will be very difficult to obtain a -90 degree camera angle at the desire height to captue the necessary nadir space. From what I undestand from Rosauro's tutorials there is no problem if I put the camera in a -45 angle and a bit farther from the nadir center. Then I can make the editting in Photoshop. I'm I right? I'm also supposing that after tilting the tripod, the camera height can be a little lower compared to its original height and this won't be a problem if its still covering the space I need...
Thanks again for your help!
Best regards,
Rim

Hi, I want to shoot a spherical pano of a hotel room at dawn. Because of low light conditions I suppose I should use a f2.8 aperture to let me use a fast shutter speed in order to avoid a blurry handheld nadir shot. My question is: How can I use a f2.8 aperture on this conditions and still get a sharp and nice focused pano? I'm using a D80/10.5 and a 360P. I understand the hyperfocal distance for this setting should be around 1.96 meters but that is not enough to get everything in focus... Is there a better way to do this kind of panos? Should I use a f8 aperture, longer shutter speed and forget about my handheld nadir shoot? Any help would really be appreciated!
Thanks,
Rim

Hi, I'm getting a 360P Absolute with a D80/10.5mm and wondering what tripod should I buy... I'm specially interested in keeping the hole in the nadir as small as possible. I have been thinking about getting a Bogen mDeve Aliminium Video Tripod 755B, but not sure if it is a good choice... I already have a Bogen 3021BP, but it forces me to leave a big hole in the nadir... (because of the legs openning angle...)
I would really appreciate any comments!

Rim

Hello,
I'm getting new equipment and planning to buy: D80 + 10.5 + 360Precision
My question is about the panohead: adjuste or absolute?? For now I'm planning to use only this setup and I understand if you get the Absolute you can buy a different Camera Elbow and Camera Lens Arm in the future for another setup. I also heard that the absolute is definitely more precise, can you really see a signicant difference between their accuracy?? In the other hand: Adjuste is newer and should have improvements... (but I really like the idea of not having to calcute the nodal point if a get the Absoulte)
I would really appreciate any comments...
Thanks,
Rim
