nice answer, exactly the same as 11 months ago!
looking at examples posted then, ehm, lets say there is "some" progress
i wanted to say that he could come back and surely find interested people with beter product, but it looks the only thing we can expect is another spam in 11 months
i understand that learning can take long (even from panoguide) but this case seems hopeless...

i took this video in about 4 hours, i made some cuts where the activity was very low, 30s of "real time" represent 1s in movie, so it show about 1h real time
there is no rule how often NL is visible, but such activity as i captured occured just few times this year, but we are at the lowest point of 11 year sun cycle this year
if someone could guarantee you that when you buy plane ticket and book hotel there will be northern lights visible, its worth any price unfortunatelly when you go far north to hunt the lights you can only count on your luck
Peter i think you can set your alarm clock for dec 2012, as there will be peak of 50year cycle (or 110 as other sources say), then it could be visible even in mexico as in 1958 (its not some catastrophic crap but NASA prediction science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2006/10mar_stormwarni... )

Lets call it panoramic video, not a panorama. I think some of you will enjoy to watch it anyway.
Some southerners (i mean living in south part of globe not south of norway) say that our minds here up north go into some dark age during 3 months without sunlight. Actually sun pay us many visits during this time, not as standart solar radiation but as solar wind which bombard the ionosphere creating the mysterious Northern Lights.
would you exchange these few hours of daylight in winter for that?

Tech info - Nikon D200, sigma 8mm, ISO 800, F3.5, exposure time 2 and 3s (depending on aurora activity), juggling with three batteries and 2 memory cards

i will just give you small advice jan, dont listen to this bunch of "professionals" just set your gear right and you can make great panos. i started with 303sph, it works, and as far as im concerned its most important when you use something the other thing is that this pano head is HEAVY but again big advanatage is that when you shoot in dark street you can use it for self defence (in this case use metal made nikon instead of plastic toy canon
