Hi guys,

Im here again with a pano which is giving me some problems. Some of you know I still have some issues when stitching my panos confused Ive gotten loads of help from here and since then Ive been basically using ptgui templates of my other stitches to stitch my panos and they seem to stitch preety well.

Ive now come across a pano where I have a bad nadir shot, very shaky and the pano, at least to my eyes stitches okay, except for the nadir.

Can some one have a look and offer some pointers on what I can do to fix it?

Here are the images and my ptgui file:

Hi,

Im using a wordpress template which has a post type which allows you to show stuff in a gallery in a pop up window.

The means of doing this are:
Image:

YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKS08be7very surpriseds

Flash: www.yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/design.swf?...

Vimeo: vimeo.com/8245346

iFrame: www.apple.com?iframe=true&width=850&height=500

Currently Im using the Flash link type.....but Ive just flashificated a panorama which has 2 panos inside the project and I cant find the .swf files.

Could I link the panos using the iframe type and enter the html file? would I have to upload the whole folder, with all images, hotspots and plugins etc for every different pano?

What would be the best way to do it...some insight and advice please!

thanks!

Problems with panorama stitching and leveling

Thanks Smooth and John, the pts info has been very helpfull...I want to stick it out with ptgui and learn. Ive tried not clustering the control points and Iam dedicating time to hand place then myself, although Im seeing that a lot of the time I dont place very good CPs as the distance is not good.

Mirroring your example and placing the cps by hand as well as adding vertical cps and so on Ive been able to stitch quite a good pano by myself!

Im having problems with another one, Ive added cps by hand and I think it stitches fine (in my opinion it has stitched good) except for the nadir shot. Ive added loads of cps on the floor but the planks still dont match. Ive noticed on the other example you helped me with, you didnt have many cps on the floor, but the planks matched perfect in that example.

I think I still need to look over an old post of mine where you explained how to optimize correctly.....this is something that I still dont undesrtand fully.

So heres my pano files, stitched pano which I reckon has stitched okay, except for the nadir. Any opinions, is the stitch okay? and how can I fix the floor as Ive added a lot of cps but nothing....

Thats right smooth, its a samyang fisheye lens. Good to know theres nothing wrong with my NPP, but Im having a real hard time grasping some of the concepts of stitching, as I always have trouble and problems when it comes to this stage.
Thanks John, Ive re-read some of your tutorials and you do mention that lamp posts arent always a good option for vertical points, Ill take that into consideration!

Smooth, I can see what you mean by clusters, those are asigned my ptgui, so I should go through and add my own control points by hand, right? I seem to always get bad control points when I add them by hand. Im afraid I dont know what the .pts file you have provided is. I dont understand it, is it just so that I can read it, as it opens up in a new window and is text.

thanks for the help!

Well it seems like Im back again. Ive gone through and re-read my whole thread where I got loads of help from the community. But it seems I still have a LOT of trouble stitching my panos together as well as understanding the whole process.

After reading all the advice I got I went ahead and stitched my latest pano and I can see I have problems with my nadir shot not stitching properly as well as with leveling my pano.

Can someone please take a look and give me some advice on what Im still doing wrong, is it the control points are bad, vertical, horizontal....or what?

Is it normal to have such a hard time stitching a pano? could it be my NPP is off?

Hi,

Yes John your right about the thread and Im sorry. Ill start another thread in the future.

Ive been trying all your suggestions, but It seems to be blending the two shots when stitching so when I output blended and layers I dont have the whole image and therefore cant paint the person in.

Heres a link to the project, see if someone can tell me whats going on and where Im going wrong.
Allthough I think I know, it seems that when I took the nadir shot, I stood in the wrong place, Ive used alpha to take my feet away but it seems its now applying to where the persons feet are meant to be.

Ive saved the tiff images as medium quality jpgs to reduce file size:

Ok, looking for some help here. Ive stiched my pano and it all stitches quite okay. The thing is in one of the shot theres someone sitting in a chair and they are in the whole shot, but in the next shot they had gone away (so no control points) but I want to use the shot of the person sitting in the chair. But when it stiches it sort of blends the nadir with the person and the legs are blended.

How can I select to use the shot of the persona sitting...sorry very confusing, I know but hopefully someone will understand.

Basically I think its blending with the nadir.
thanks.

Hey, this doesnt have to do with panos, but I thought this would be a good place to ask!

Ive got some images and I need to know their coordinates. Ive been told by the person who gave me the images that in windows 7 the coordinates are shown in details, but im using windows xp.....

Does anyone know of a program that will show me the coordinates of the images?

Appreciate it!

Thanks!

Thanks smooth. So once I out put the pano from ptgui, and edit it in photoshop, Ive got my equirectangular image.

The thing is that Im using flashificator to compose my panoramas, therefore I cant use .tiff images.

The problem Im having is that my pano.jpeg image from photoshop is very big mb wise....Ive read that it should be around 3mb....mine go up to 5mb....

What can I do? How big should the pano be size wise.. I want my panos for web viewing.

So do you recomend creating cube faces in pano2vr....?

cheers, appreciate the help...and patience!
