Here we go again..... I presume you searched the forum for this type of thread that has been debated MANY times before?
Have tried them all, and my honest opinion is without question... PTGUI... BUT to get the best out of it the learning curve isn't so low. However you can get excellent results in easy mode.

Clay said: Nice Pano, I love shots of places I probably can't get to.
I'd say you're pretty close. Perhaps just throwing out the high number control points would do the trick. Personally I would declare this one stitched and do a little touch up to fix the problems. One thing bothers me more, there's a vertical white line that runs through the image, it probably is the "seam" of the original equirectangular image. Perhaps an artifact of post-processing it. You could try the offset filter in Photoshop to check for problems at seams.
Regards, Clay
Ive seen seams like this meany times on panos that have been procesed without being flattened. ie if you make global colour/sharpening adjustments make sure the image is flattened or on abackground layer first.

Why does the banner need such a tiny file size restriction? This is even small for simple vector animation!

Also those of you that have PS CS5... lens profiles in Camera raw and lens correction filter are awesome. Automatically corrects CA, Vignetting & distortion. If your lens isn't already in the database it takes about 5-10 mins to profile any lens.

When we started taking panoramas seriously years ago we tried various solutions for heads, even made our own... Theres just no substitute for a decent quality Pano head. Cough... shout out for Nodal Ninja...
I see where your going with the head setup Matt but imagine setting that up correctly everytime, bet its a nightmare to get the NPP correct everytime.

PTgui has been our staple stitcher for over 5 years now and always happy to upgrade. This software is worth 100x its cost price for businesses! Tried many other stitchers and PTgui has always won in our book.
Well done Joost!

A little bit of digging/searching rather than just an inital request post will give you a wealth of information about all different types of cameras, software and techniques available for producing fully immersive 360° Images.
Or is just an advert for your company?
