Id need some pointers on how to remove the tripod and camera shadow in a pano like this one www.panoguide.com/gallery/687/

Now i know i can step out of the picture myself but how would i go about to get rid of the cameras shadow? Will it work if i just move the camera 1m to the side?

Messed up on the nadir and zenith so i did not use them, they got to weirdly exposed. also i was unable to keep my thumb of the exposure wheel while i took against the sun blush

From one newbie to another wink ...
No you don't need a fisheye but a fisheye will reduce the shots needed to make a full spherical panorama. With a 10,5mm Nikon fisheye you would need 6 around and one up and another down so 8 in total.
Personally i use ptgui(.com) and find that it is fairly straight forward to use. I bet some will think I'm a retard and some don't but it is just a matter of personal preference i guess...
There is also a open source prg that seem fairly good hugin.sourceforge.net/

I have ben running 64bit vista since it came out in the shops. And in the beginning there was some problems, but as i upgraded my hardware (i trye to constantly switch a pice here and a pice there) and after several patches and fixes i have not had any problems with it. I seriously dont know what al the fuss is about as vista works like a charm for me.

Choosing between Sigma 8 or 4,5mm Fisheye

Thx to everybody that boderd to reply to my (silly) Q's, More of them to come...

I decided to go with the "Nikkor AF DX 10,5/2,8 G ED" That i orderd from the UK trough amazon.co.uk ... And even though i would have gotten it somewhat cheaper from the US i would probbibly have ben in trouble if i had any problem with it. But compared to the prices i had in my budget i was able to get a Nikon mc-36 remote shutter release and still have a few € to spare.

Thx again to all and il return with more Q's when i get the lens ... smile

but as for now il start banging in deval-vr usage between my ears.

Hmm ... Nikkor f/2.8 10.5mm Fisheye it is then ...

622€ is that a ok price (Europe) or can i get it cheaper than that somewhere?

Or should i order it from the US now that USD is so cheap? seems i can get the same lens for 394eur very surprised or does that boggle up warranty?

im to take 360-180 panos both inside and outside. To be displayed on the web mostly in Hq tho.
Tbh i dont much mind if i need to take 3 shots or 6 shots to get it done .. im more interested in quality, and it seens the nikon is in the same price range as the 2 sigma lenses.

So new list then: wink
Sigma EX 4,5/2,8 DC HSM Fisheye Nikon
Sigma EX 8/3,5 DG Fisheye Nikon
Nikon AF DX 10,5/2,8 G ED fisheye

Pros / cons ?

I was however almost under the impression that the sigma was better .. but that i guess just comes from the fact that most of u guys here seem to use sigma of some sort..

seems i stand corrected .. even canon users seem to opt for the nikon .. why is that?

Im about to invest in a fisheye lens for my Nikon D200 but cant really decide on the lens... But basically i have it down to between these two:

Sigma EX 4,5/2,8 DC HSM Fisheye Nikon
Sigma EX 8/3,5 DG Fisheye Nikon

any pros / cons for these? Price is about the same for both

Head that i have is "Manfrotto 303sph"

Im by far no expert in this area, but i would sugest a fisheye for that.
