Is there a software package like 3dvist show, or tour weaver for mac?
and if not which software package is better?
i actually own a copy of show 2.0 and might upgrade that, but the upgrade ia almost as much as buying a license of tourweaver.
thanks kyle

Hey Morten,
I have been a webmaster for years, and actually run my own servers for hosting but I can provide some help about wht you are looking at.
Shared hosting= one server shared between many users, and has limited "core" functionality. so you would not be able to change certain settings on the server.
virtual dedicated= a server that gives you more control over server settings but it still shared between a few users. often these servers use "virtualization" to run an instance of an operating system so that you can control you server independently of another user who has a virtual dedicated account on that same server.
Dedicated Server= just that, a server dedicated to you, you can change any settings you like, and are also responsible for most maintenance and updates.
What does someone shooting panos need?
just get a shared plan, most hosting companies use massive server systems to share many (like 10's or 100's of thousand users) so it is really stable. The advantage here is obviously cost, high bandwith and large storage space is "shared" among all the users.
so for example the hosting companies rely on a user only using a small amount of what is allowed on the plan and it seems to work for them. like the law of averages, people are allow 2gb traffic, but most use 300mb or something like that. Same with disk space, people are allow 500gb but in reality most people have like 100mb or so.
The downside to shared plans are== NO CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT. you can not create large databases, or have web applications that require lots of processing power. BUT, odds are very, good if you need that sort of thing you know it already.
btw. if you want i could hook you up with a hosting setup, I sub-contract my hosting through godaddy (the largest host on earth) and I can pass on very good rates. Plus, it is rock stable, and fast.
good luck

ok, so i need help with a lens to compliment my pano lens. basically a multi purpose daily lens.
I shoot a canon, and own a sigma 8mm, and just ordered a tonkina 10-17mm. i am now in the market for one more lens and need some help.
I want good range, and really dont want to give up too much on the wide angle side. so i looked at the canon 24-85, the 28-135, and even the 28-105 "l" (i really dont want to spend as much money as the 28-105)
I shoot a 30d but do plan to upgrade to full frame at some point so i want to avoid the ef-s line.
I will also consider other brands, i like my sigma 8mm its great.
thanks for the help

I used to use cubic converter, I just tried the demo of pan2vr, and I personally like it better now. I am going to purchase it, the main reason is flash output and streamlined work flow.
just my opinion

you should auto play both panos at the same rate, I think it would look cool.

this is most likely a template. templates are very often used in low budget projects, or by people who need to put up their own site in a hurry. if you wanted to use that template it would be very easy to use.

hello all, i am looking to get a new pano head (yeah bill i own a nn2 and a nn3).
What i am looking for is a fully templatable, so i figure this I have three choices, first is a 360p, second would be the spherical solution for really right stuff and third would be from angos.
what i like about the one from RRS is that i can buy a base plate for my camera and the camera position is always held. i would think i could accomplish this with the one from angos also, and am not sure about the one from 360p.
i would just like some opinions.
thanks

say away from them...i read a lot of reviews about buying equipment, and this place is part of a distribution group that had been known for credit fraud. i cannot remember where the e-retailer review was, but i really remember that about 50 online camera stores were linked to this distributorship network out of new york, and about a thousand people review that these guys do not ship u.s. new in the box product and a very high number of people that reviewed said they had random credit charges for months after the attempted purchase.
I WOULD STAY AWAY.

i had planned on ordering the peleng first, i have owned a nikon 10.5 and a sigma 8mm, and think that the peleng would just be a nice lens to keep around...just to have type deal
as for the tokina i can think of more then just panos to have that lens, it fills the gap between my 8mm and the 18mm i usually shoot with
so why get both? sometimes its nice to have 8mm, and i would like to try something new and i have had the sigma f4...which i never used in automatic mode, so i am thinking i will save the money and get the peleng to fill the 8mm quota
what do others think of this logic?

hi, all after a long personal debate about what lens i should get for my new 30d, i have come to the conclusion that i would like to have 2 lenses for panos and i think that means i am going to get a peleng 8mm and a tokina 10-17
i think this will give me a very versatile setup.
what i am looking for is a link to some sample 360 spheres shot with a canon 30d+ peleng 8mm or tokina 10-17
thanks
