Is the FOV of the Sigma F3.5 the same on a Nikon and Canon? And what is the FOV exactly on those camera's.
And the same question but for the Sigma 8mm F4.

EmEss, can you post a photo shot with the sigma 8/4 ? I would like to see how much is cut off at the top and bottom. And would like to know how big a hole you get when you stitch without nadir and zenith shots. (Since the pentax sensor is a wee bit bigger than canon and so, i think a 8mm on a pentax should give almost no hole.

Yeah, well that's typical. Because after first asking and searching at every big photographyshop in the Netherlands (and around) I send out a mail to sigma in every english speakin country. Everytime they told me they were not sure if it was ever build, but it was now out of production anyway because of the new 4mm ??!. And Sigma America was the one who wrote me that the 8mm was definitly never made for Pentax. So that's why I bought the 10-17mm.
If you can show a Pentax K10d with a Sigma 8mm mounted on it then I believe again.

@Doug: The sigma 8mm was never build for the pentax.
So Klaus, don't waist your time trying to find one like I did. I use the pentax 10-17mm on my pentax K10d and I only need 5 shots around (and a zenith and nadir).
@Hans: what do you mean by a fullframe fisheye? Didn't you have a fullframe canon? Then I think your tokina would give you a circular image but this will not be the case for Klaus with his Petax K10D and crop 1.5
There are circular and diagonal fisheye lensen, and the pentax is a diagonal ( see explanation on page one in this thread www.panoguide.com/forums/qna/3915/ )which means the outercircle falls over the sensor of in this case the pentax.
The pentax 10-17mm works great for me. But I don't know the sigma 10-20 so I can't really advice.

Nice pictures Michael!
You have low and high resolution versions, but i don't really see a mayor differance. So is it only a pixel thing? or do you compress them differently?

@Ed 360, I think immervision uses their own extension. So although the viewer is free you still need the software to make your own panoramas suitible for the viewer.
@emarts, maybe www.flashpanoramas.com is something to look at. If you have basic knowledge of html then this might be a good alternative.

I use the same technic with my pentax 10-17 fisheye. I shoot 5 around at a -10 degree angle and 1 up at about a 60 degree angle. But on advise of John H. I now also take a nadir shot, since this helps getting a better stitch in ptgui.

Gus, don't know if you know, but you can save presets in camera raw as well. This can be very handy. For example, I saved a preset which holds the vignetting and chromatic aberration settings for my fisheyelens. So to quickly convert my original pictures to tif I open all the photo's from one panorama shoot at once, select them all, start the preset and then save them all at once.

Gus, When you run adobe bridge, select a png image, right click and choose open does it open in camera raw than?
Why did you come to 6000x3000 before?
For flashpanoramas player i prefer the cubefaces since they seem to be of better quality than the mov version. And also, the cube files load quicker in fpp than a mov file.
When i have the cube faces i edit the tripod out the nadir, and change it back to a equi because i use that as a preview image.

Just typed in my response, went downstairs, got holdup an hour, came back, posted my response and discovered i was logged out and my post was gone.
So here it go's again. shorter this time
John, in CS3 in the raw screen I can choose tif but not the bit depth, so I don't know if it's saved as 8 or 16 bit (not that I can see the difference.) It is probably better so save as psd and then manually save them as 16bit tif for ptgui I guess.
I expected it to be better, but thus far I used the print setting because it renders faster and it looks good enough for full screen at first glance. But now I'll save them maximised.
Isn't panotools "as is" since a couple of years? So isn't ptgui more evolved, or am i mistaken?
After i have saved the images they need no more work since i use flash panoramas player. So i then only have to write a simple html and xml file.
Oh and John, my last 2 panorama's had a "too good to be true" quality thanks to our little mail sessions from the last week, so thanks for that

With what program do you render to 16bit? Could it be that stitcher does not support 16bit? Did you test with 8bit tiff?

A few quick questions, for all you pro's.
1. When I open raw in photoshop cs3 and I save them as tiff, are they saved as 16bit or 8bit? And when the answer is 8bit, is it then better to first save them as psd and later save them as 16bit tiff?
2. In ptgui, is it better to save the pano in maximum size and reduce it in photohop? Or save it in a smaller size so it need not be reduced?
3. what is the best interpolator setting in ptgui? And is there a sync1024 plugin for ptgui (i read somewhere this was the best?!)
4. My basic work-flow is: Shoot in raw, convert to tiff in cs3, make a pano with ptgui (save maximum as tiff 8bit lzw (with enblend standard settings and lacroz interpolator), convert to cube-faces with pano2qtvr (still tiff 8bit but interpolator sync1024) Edit nadir cube-face in photoshop and save again as tiff 8bit convert all cube-faces in photoshop to jpg quality 10 and optimized color
So where can i improve?

Yes, i tried it. And i'm happy with the result.
But I find it works best on detailed pictures When i applied it on a picture with a lange white wall with some black iron in front of it, I got halo's even by looking at the radius slide.
