@efkhoury. There is no longer a restriction on urls. You buy a licence and can use it on as many tours as you like delivering them via any method you choose.

@Trausti. With all due respect and not wishing to get entangled in a flame war, Flashificator and Panorama Player is a competitor and thus I'd expect a negative response. You assume much. Licensing decisions are not mine to make so please don't shoot the messenger. Let me say that 'we' certainly do listen.

@Ken Warner. I'd be most grateful if you could post exactly which tour you were looking at, your system OS i.e MAC od PC and the Flash player version you are using. If you could also elaborate on what you mean by 'wigglies' that would be most helpful too. I will do my upmost to fix any issues you are experiencing. Thank you.

Doug, yes I see what you are saying. Our software supports deeplinking for instance so you could have several panoramas on the same url but navigate to them independently.

Example:

hosting.vtfusion.co.uk/demos/horizontalthumbnaild...

hosting.vtfusion.co.uk/demos/horizontalthumbnaild...

The quote refering to 'new player/GUI functionality' means that we will continue to develop and support our software not that it is not ready.

We are selling our product successfully at the moment and my post here is to inform the community here of our product update. Many thanks.

Our single licence covers a single URL not an entire domain.

You are indeed talking about domains. I am talking about URLs that is where your confusion is.

A URL is a webpage. A tour on a webpage may contain as many panoramas as you like.

Thank you. Windows only build (at present) is stated in the licence agreement however I have made it clearer on the download page for the casual viewer.

Thanks to immersium for your comments, I've been a professional web developer for over 12 years and worked for some big name London agencies. We contacted Denis two years ago as we were interested in using his product for a particular job we had. After several correspondances with Denis (and the difficult language barrier!) he told us that what we were trying to do was not possible with his player (KRPano and Panosalado were not even out at the time) so Ben and I decided to produce our own tour software. We have used it for several big commercial clients which has helped to fund this mammoth two year project to develop a commercial product. Ben has been producing virtual tours for 4 years now. We are far from amateur.

The GUI is fully functional at the present time, we have a few changes to make to it and it will be online shortly and your will be able to download a trial. As stated the website is still work in progress and rest assured all legalities are being finalised.

The purpose of my first post was to inform this community. We decided to launch the website now because we felt the project was at a stage where people would get a clear picture of the capabilities of our software and two years is a long time to hold off any PR at all!. Discussions over the image quality and size choice of our demo panoramas are not relevent since it is the software, the player, xml, api and gui capabilties that are the at issue here. download the demos, put a better quality panorama image in, have a play. It's not perfect but we are commited to a very active and ongoing development schedule. Our remit for this software has been specifically designed to display context sensitive information within a panorama environment, to make it easy and quick to produce highly interactive tours with little or no programming knowledge at all. It's not designed to solely display a panorama for it's wow factor. Denis's player is a great product and has inspired us from day one. Yes we'd love to see the community embrace our software. There is room for both.

Well it's been a interesting response to our software.

The flashplayer is pretty solid and is been used successfully on a few commercial tours. The GUI is still being developed by a software development company. We hope to have a good beta release by the end of February. We will create a few screencasts over the next few weeks to demonstrate it's features.

We are still adding content to the vtfusion website but we wanted to let people see it so they can have a look and keep popping back as we add more content such as tutorials, demos, plugins and themes.

The software came about as in some situations we found there wasn't a product that could meet our needs. From reading panorama forums we think our software will meet the needs of the people who can't achieve what they want with existing software, you do not need an expert knowledge of Actionscript 3 to develop your own features.

All we ask is you give it a chance, maybe it's not for you. Certainly in some cases simple panorama tours can use the standard Flash Panoramas and alike but for highly interactive content based tours which need text, maps, images, audio, video and document downloads then we hope you would bear us in mind.

Issues with viewing the higher resolution panorama on the demo are most likely due to connection speeds, the higher resolution image was 8mb so shouldn't take too long, we have reduced this to 4mb so hopefully it will be quicker now.

fusionplayer is compiled using the Flex Gumbo SDK (4) and targets Flash Player 10 accelerated 3D transformations, the player will fall back to software rendering in Flash Player 9.

Thanks

vtfusion is the product of myself Ben, a virtual tour creator and Darrell, a Flash developer.

There are a lot of good flash based applications out there for displaying 360° panoramas and creating virtual tours but we found that they didn't do exactly what we wanted. This led us on a path to develop our own and now after over two years of development and a lot of our own time and money but we have created a virtual tour player we think fills most of the needs of virtual tour creators and web designers.

fusionplayer is built in Flash and is XML driven. The XML is easy to understand and edit and there is a API so plugins can be created and used along with fusionplayer.

We hope that the virtual tour community will give this product a go and embrace it for what it is. We intend to create a number of free plugins and themes that people can download and use. We will also provide the source fla files so people can edit and adapt the themes and plugins for there own needs.

fusionplayer has been a labour of love and now we would like to turn it into a successful product that can add value to the industry and also fund us to develop the core engine further.

We are open to community feedback and would like to hear about users experiences with the software.

We look forward to working with you over the many years to come.

Thanks
Ben and Darrell
