Just great! Really a nice pano.

You have a nice website (don't like the background music too much though) wink

Thank you so much puzz.
Now, at least, I know it can't be done.

By the way, that website you pointed me out, panoeye, looks great! I think I'm going to register right now!

Thanks again. Regards from Spain.

Question about PTViewer and linking images

Hi all.

It's been a long time since my last visit here but I have a question for you.
In my free 360 website [360.atspace.com/] they allow only 200kb file size uploads; as you can see it's a very little amount of space to put a panorama. So I'd like to use my (paid) flickr account to put my panoramic images and link them to the applet code. The problem is I don't know how to do it properly.

In the applet a typical line is like this:
<param name="file" value="image.jpg">

What I want to do is linking my flickr image (i.e. an url) to the applet.
I've tried:
<param name="url" value="farm3.static.flickr.com/whatever.jpg">
but doesn't seem to work out.

Is this possible? If so, how can be done?

I don't even know if I have explained it properly...

Thanks in advance.

I don't find the display window very appealing. There seems no reason to limit the vertical field of view and require the person viewing to have to drag the image up and down. There is plenty of space to have a bigger window and display the whole height at once. As it is, it's too much like looking through a letterbox.
John

Well, as always, John is right. And finally I made the window twice the former vertical size. And looks better, no doubt. Thanks again John.

As a side note, I added a RSS feeder too. I recommend you to insert one in your webpage. It's quite simple (even I can do one!).
Now anybody may know when I add a new pano to the web.

Yes, John is such a genius. He fixed and enhanced a series of images (of my own) that anyone would have deleted. But he did a great job with them. Just brilliant.

Thanks John.

Thanks.

I've compressed them and I got a 6.5 Mb zip file.
Send me a message to pisacotoyes at gmail dot com and I'll send them to you.

Thanks again John. Hope you can do a good job...

John:
As you can see, and a newbie in this field. The problem here is I use a "normal" digital camera, a Canon Powershot A70, and, last but not least, I don't use a pano head nor tripod, so the parallax errors are, consequently, big. So my equipment (my camera and my hands) is not the best one to achieve pro results...
That's basically why many of my pictures are not "correctly" stitched. And, as you said, my inexperience using Pano Tools is more than evident... blush
About the British Museum, that one is probably the worst pack of pics I've ever made. It's virtually impossible someone can do something good with pics like those. So thanks for your offer but do not worth the wasted time (your time).
Thanks again for your reply. I'll try to do my best from now on.

Smooth:
I'll do it. Seems like John can give good advices.
Thanks.

Bernie.

Thank you so much for the input, John. I always thought that an small window would be better but watching more panos in the web, I see almost every single one is in a big window; so I'll try to resize them but my problem is my (free) host only allowed 200K files so I must put the jpgs in an small size.
Usually my stitcher program is hugin (hugin.sourceforge.net/), that it's free.

Do you know another one that is free?

Thanks again for your reply. I hope to do things much better in the future.

Bernie.

Hi everybody.
Just want you to view my new website about panoramas. It's in spanish and english (some of them are not translated yet though) so you will be able to read a short description of the picture.
Here it goes:

360.atspace.com

Any feedback is more than welcome.
Thanks.
