Hi kulana,

I like air panoramas and also your tour! But I think Dennis is right with his statement...
By the way I shot last month also panoramas via helicopter for a online travel magazine.
Nothing specials only a heli 360 panorama: www.360bilder.de/html/vr_grancanaria2.htm

Hi everbody,
this month I went to the final of redbull airrace series.

Here's just a little vr-Pano from this spectacular event:
www.360bilder.de/html/vr_redbull-airrace.htm

In the panorama you see Paul Bonhomme, who has won the 2010 redbull airrace world championship series.

... reviews and something else are always welcome wink

Have fun

Hi Mark,

sorry, no composite of two pano-shots or something else...
Only a simply shoot outside the flying plane.
Here is a small original 8mm pic from the shooting were I also look into the cam:

hi Dimitar,

sorry for delay, I've discovered this thread right now.

And yes, Tobias is right:
My workflow for the location was to shoot every 90 degrees one pic. That means 4 pics for the whole sphere.
Here I work with the light and compact Canon 500D together with the Sigma 8mm/f3,5 on an special ring: www.360bilder.de/nodalring.html

I release and turn manuell deliberately, cause with the additional weight of a motor at this high speed
of ca. 120 km/h, the windforce would act even stronger on the Monopod!
With some practice you can rotate and release your equipment exactly and quick. It's just a matter of practice.

As Juergen mentions above, my aim was to achieve a far away position for the camera.
But more than this 1,50m, as you can see in the vr-pano, were not possible due to security and force.

Certainly there a always a bit of parallax errors after stitching, but these you can correct easily with layers in photoshop.
So the result will be precise and nearly perfect.

panoramas on iphone/ipad
panoramas on iphone/ipad

Hello all,

discussion about Iphone/Ipad and flash-possibilities for panorama presentation in forums hold on for quite some time now. A fortnight now, the company KRPano offers in addition to its flash-viewer a plugin Iphone/Ipad usage through an entire new viewer.

Advantages of this solution are VR-panorama on mobile inet-equipment and, even better, Iphone and Ipad user can use the same url for connecting panoramas like normal PC/MAC User do.

After a few tests and fasinated by this new possibility I updated several panos on the main page of www.360Bilder.de for mobile usage (the three latest and the five most frequented pictures).

I would appreciate your experience with different systems and browser. Hope everything works in the right way. So please let me know about your test

G'day Hatim,

hmm, I would also reconsider, if the 360 Precision with MK Panomachine realy is the best alternative for aerial panos.
I can't deny the high quality but the weight and handling is equal importend when you are up in the air.
I always prefer a real small and light combination for such pictures:

www.360bilder.de/html/flash_yak52_3.htm
www.360bilder.de/html/flash_ultralite1.htm
www.360bilder.de/html/flash_stearman1.htm

... all made only on a pole with a light homemade bracket (less is more).

just my two cent...

ups ... sorry for delay,
@ Trausi:
Yes, such a flight really makes a difference. To hurtle free as a bird at the push of a button.
Once you arrived at the top, you can shut the motor off and glide soundless through the air.
The BMW motorbike motor (1,2l) in the rear suffice to lift the trike within short time (ca.20-30 meter runway).
Furthermore it accelerate the trike (ca.450kg) up to 120 km/h. Fast enough for a fun factor but also save
enough for a flightmaneuver.

@ Tom: Thanks for your kind words wink
Your heli pano without doors is very cool and has also a great quality !!!
