alternative would be a simple base to mount around a pole with standard round bubble-level mounted ontop.

I would like to know you calculate when shooting a 120x360 panorama vertical with 28mm lens on FF or 18mm APS-C-lens. 1. How many rows? Four?
On film image would be 58x230mm. 2. How big must be a digital-version in mm/pixel? I still do not understand pixel versus mm. Image height on digital rotapancam is defined on pixel. How many pixel has a 24x36mm sensor? sorry for the stupid question. My thinking is still in analogue panoramic photography.

Has is right. It will perfectly work. Lets try it. Which cams are suitable? Maybe the weight will have huge influence on rotation. Although its a newer design with two apertures-right?-i dont trust it yet. this is done with rotapancam- 4 secs around. www.auschwitzpanorama.tk I wonder if this can be done with 3p/sec? Ok there are quicker compacts. i used 1/60 (26mm equiv.), similar to spinhot successor spinner 360. How can we handle that exposure is adjusted for every shot, when shooting from bright to dark zones? By using a timer I am asking since i dont yet have a sophisticated digital cam. I could handle this with roundshot anlogue but only with slow rotation. I have used roundshot as turntable but only for videos. will do the same for 3dstereopans and videos. I need a special screw which is hard to get.The screw for rs 65/70/220/65EL viewfinder. Want to use this second non-standard thread to stabilize the adapter-bar together with the standard 3/8-thread. I will try it out with my compact-cam using the latter.

Thnaks a lot I will first let the center hole of manfrotto 095B be enlarged bit. Bolex is more stable. But i dont use DSLR.But canon-compacts for 3dstereo-work. 1 kgs without electric rotator.

Not a good combination for slow exposure times. I tried it out on a 34 sec-turntable 1/60 inside= unsharp panos. you can get an electric pano-turntable from china for 400 usd-check alibaba. One which can turn-stop-shoot etc. There are three different ones. there is a seperate thread about it.

Check the other link and read nics opinion. Its not stable.
to NIC: How about a universal adapter to be used together with superclamp? i dont know if its a good idea. to fix multiple diameters. or as alternative a fixation like i showed in that L-SHAPE which can be used as pedestal. Two pikes can be added too. [IMG][/IMG] What you see is a metallic bar inside since base segment of alpa heer monopod(quick automatic leg but not last segment) was too narrow.

The problem is the levelling of the tripod for every shot. Which is very annoying if tripod has not automatic legs. I only know of manfrotto neotec and their too heavy triaut. you need a levelling-unit, which is sometimes built into tripods sometimes can be added. the bubble-level must be on the panorama-unit. when you look at the vanguard bbh-series which has a very innovative quick leveller you will see that the leveller is above the rotating base. if this base is not levelled correctly you will end up levelling every shot-parts of your panorama. The vanguard is a wrong construction. if you put a level to the cameras hotshoe you will understand quickly. Not every shot is critical but you will miss the right tool when the situation comes.

Relating to NN panopoles www.panoguide.com/forums/commercial/8982/?page=2 i have new ideas to use existing tripods as bases for these panopoles. I have a 4m-telescope with 29mm base-diameter. to use it in manfrotto 055b center-hole must be enlarged a bit.
2. but i could use it in my bolex metallic tripod. center hole takes up 40mm column. Nick, could you produce and adapter, sort of stabilyzing -tube? as you can see there is a level which fixes the column. [IMG][/IMG]

The bbh series of vanguard have a unique automatic levelling system. Good but has one major mistake: levelling is above pano-base. One has to level-if necessary after every rotation... Best is a tripod with integrated leveller or an added leveller. novoflex has a levelling plate. What does the experts think about the unique manfrotto neotec tripod? has automativ legs. Havent see it yet, i have the too heavy triaut with old manfrotto leveller mounted. And old bolex with integrated leveller for my roundshot. Berlebach also has interesting wooden tripods. I have seen multiple chinese panoheads. one if them is foldable. Have no real experience with digi-panography/stitching.
