Posting a sign or telling patrons as they enter does not obviate the need for a release.
They have the choice, close the restaurant to the public or have people sign a release as they enter.

I started shooting HDR because I don't know much about flash Photography but found the more I did it the better I got with my exposures and using RAW converter that I stopped doing HDR. Recently I swan some amazing interios HDRs that looked like really well exposed "flash" shots. I contacted the photographer and he told me about these two products.
I have PhotomatixPro, as you said it's just another HDR Program, but it looks like HDR Expose is more like working in the RAW converter for HDR images. If that makes sense. It has a 30 day unrestricted evaluation which is nice, I'll download it and give it a try. I was hoping that someone on this forum was using it and could give it the same sort of ringing endorsement as the Promote.

Regarding #2, I bracket with 3 ev and I don't use HDR, that's why I started bracketing but I found that if I nailed the exposure I didn't need to do HDR. For high contrast shots I use mattes and blend modes to get the exposure correct.
But I bring this up becuase I didn't know you weren't supposed to change the exposure between shots, if needed I change the exposure between every shot. I thought that was what you should do and I haven't had any problems stitching and "most" of the time my panos look fairly well exposed.
I'm curious about adjusting exposures between shots too...

Thanks everyone for the replies, it sometimes takes me a few days to get back on the forum.
I'm just going to have to shoot a lot with it and test it. I'm more of an editor than a photographer that once I got into shooting HD with DSLR's I found there was so much more you could do.
These are the first Pano's I've managed to publish online, there are stitching errors in a couple and I'm a little all over the place with the look but I'm having to learn cinematography, timelapse and panoramic photography which has created a real love hate relationship with my DSLR.
My heads going to explode and hopefully I won't keep asking the same questions again and again.

OK after reading the measurements thread on this forum I feel intimidated asking any questions. Of coarse the question I have is, "why on earth would you need that?" I digress [and didn't want to hijack that thread...]
I have PhotoBuddy on my iPhone, I read the manual and it seems to work but I don't understand what its telling me?
I'm using a Rokinon 8mm lens on a Canon 7D which it tells me it has an effective focal length of 13mm, 8mm multiplied by the crop factor.
I want to use f./8 and the thing that I want to focus on [that I want to be tack sharp] is about 48 inches away from the camera, so I enter that as my subject distance.
It tells me that I have a hyperfocal distance of 16.9 inches, a near limit of 12.4 inches and a far limit of infinite? That's great but what do I set the focus to?
Its got a neat graphic too but I'm not sure I understand how this helps me get better panos/pictures?
Also, I just received my NN3, what do you set the horizontal at 0 or +/- 3 degrees?

Do you use the Polepixie adapter on the Wonderpole? If so, how sturdy/safe is the Wonderpole with a Canon 40D or 5dMkII?
How do you control the camera?

I haven't used my new NN3 yet but I wanted to mention how great I think their customer support is.
They sent the adapter, answered what ever questions I had to make sure that I was a happy customer.
Its alway nice to do business with people who say what they mean and do what they say they will.

Smooth said: This is one of my panoramas so I'll give you some insight. It was made with a Sigma 8mm Fisheye fitted to a APS-C sized sensor Canon 7D. This gives approximately 180 degrees high by 140 degrees wide because the Sigma 8mm is really a full circular fisheye designed for a fullframe camera. Fitting it to an APS-C sized sensor camera the image is cropped on the sides.
By tilting the camera/lens up 5 degrees, it closes the Zenith completely meaning you don't need to shoot a Zenith shot. But because of this tilt up it does increase the Nadir hole at the bottom. This is of no real consequence because this is typically a capture of the tripod or panohead. In this case I used a Monopod so the footprint was quite small and I could simply fake in a patch to cover where the Nadir hole was. But you also could have taken a Nadir shot and stitched that image in.
The rotational images (6x) were shot using a Seitz Roundshot Motorized VR Drive and all images were captured within 8 seconds. The great advantage of a fast motorized drive.
There was movement between shots and this has to be manually dealt with in layers in Photoshop using masking. That is what the "blender" didn't deal with. It is not uncommon for me to process the stitched image twice or three times using different blenders. I.E: PTgui's own, Smartblend and Enblend layer them and use the best parts of each. Then move on to the individual layers. Time consuming? yes! But that is how you get the result.
If you are new, baby steps ...

OK, here's the truth about how he did that, I have to point out that this only works in Australia, draw what ever conclusion you like, but in Australia when you whip out a camera everyone freezes for thirty seconds. Its the weirdest thing, when you've got the shot you yell "goodonya" and everyone is back to normal.
I also have to point out that its April Fools Day, at least for another 45 minutes for me...

Smooth said: Another product to appease the crap end of the market without any real skill involved.
Real Estate owners will fall over themselves to buy one once they realise the one-shot mirror was a total waste of money.
Though, $1990 USD is more than most Realtors would spend without a justifiable return within minutes.
It is an ugly nadir footprint. But hey! fill it up with advertising.
Good luck to Girocam and the sales they make.

I would never have tried a flash until I saw your work, I just didn't think it was possible.

Hi Clay, how do you use the VRHabitiat software.
I'm currently using Pano2VR. how do you incorporate this into your workflow so the same panos play on an iPad?

Your a little all over the map but I like the topic.
Although your pano's aren't as sharp as some I've seen on this site, its obvious you know how to produce good panorama's, so I don't see why you couldn't be commercially competitive.
I think the bigger issue is which one of these potential markets do you think you can add the most value? That question has more to do with what you know about each of these markets than your ability to shoot panoramas.
I'm in California and I recently started a company for marketing luxury real estate, I produce very high end HD video, still photography, panoramic photography and publish a website for each property. I do not offer any of these services separately. I charge a lot because I provide a valuable service. Most photographers are blown away with how much I charge.
But why can I charge more? In part because in my area luxury properties that used to sell in days or weeks are now selling in months or years. Also most of the people who purchased these estates came from within a 50 mile radius, that is no longer the case so Realtors are having to learn how to actually "Market" properties.
Most are sticking with what they know, the problem is that they don't really make more money by paying 20 or 30% less for photography and that also really doesn't help them sell properties. So I don't sell them video or panorama's I sell them outreach. I enable them to attract customers they may never meet before they make an offer.
Its a much smaller percentage of realtors who can get their heads around this concept, but I already have more work than I can possibly do.
So find a market segment that you can help solve a problem other than panoramic photography and sell that, they get the rest for free...
Also, I really enjoyed your pano's, its nice to see images of Yemen other than what we get here on the nightly news. Thanks and I hope others join into this discussion.
