Unfortunately, www.vrwave.com doesn't have SamYang data in lens database.
If you would update this site, what numbers you would provide:
This fisheye lens ... Min. shots (full frame): ... Recommended (1.3x, 1.5x, 1.6x): ...
Thanks !

John,
I think that looking the project settings done by the masters are a great source of learning.
But I couldn't open your project.
It seems like you have used others file names for the photos.
The original images are numbered from 0389 to 0396 and yours from 0563 to 0570
The sequence is the same ?
Thanks Itamar

Andrew,
as I'm NOT a native english speaker I've some troubles to understand some sentences. My fault, not yours
But as I could understand, you'd have bought the SamYang instead of Nikkor 10.5mm, right ?
The quality difference really worth the savings?
Thanks.
Itamar P.S.: What is a cheapskate ?

chantus said: Aha... So, Itamar, what method you are using to stich nadir images? Use handheld and tripod nadir images and stich them in layers, then fix them in Photoshop?
chantus,
in this particular case I was trying to eliminate parts of nadir shot that I don't want to be blended by PTGui (my legs).
I used the great tutorial you made reference in the initial post.
I'm using version 8.3.3 - Windows 7 64bits
I will update when I have the time.

I thought it was a problem of an older version. But I couldn't upgrade yet. The problem is exactly like this.

Jon,
you have wonderful tours in your website. And the interface is simply great !
Besides a great talent, what equipment did you use for the pano photography ?

Smooth,
it was a long time ago I did bracketing in my equipment.
I'm not sure, but to bracket shutter speed you have to set A mode right ?
I think if you set S mode the bracket will be done varying aperture.
As I said, not sure...

Doug,
exactly !
In A mode you fix the aperture and the bracketing is done varying shutter speed.
I guessed I could set the aperture just to let D90 knows what it is. As Sunex is fixed it wouldn't change it of course.
It is not so critical in fisheye lenses because the huge DOF. But it's better to bracket changing shutter speed always, as a rule of thumb.
Accordingly to Francois Pelletier from Sunex, only Nikon D300 is compatible in A and S modes:
Francois Pelletier(Sunex) said: Unfortunately, our lens will not work in A mode with Nikon D90 and will essentially work only in Manual mode. For full mode support on Nikon, you need to use body D300 and up. Next generation of products should support all Nikons Bodies.

As the lens is fix aperture I guessed that I could set aperture to 5.6 and D90 would choose the diferent shooter speeds to achieve bracketing.

Hey Doug !
Good news
But all you described is in Manual mode for sure, right ?
It would be a big surprise if I could use A mode for bracketing !
I think Sunex will be my choice...
Looking for a first job to finance it.

Smooth said: The Sunex SuperFisheye is an 5.6mm lens with a fixed aperture of f/5.6 It is solely designed for a small APS-C/DX sensor camera. (3 Shot spheres)
As it is a fixed aperture lens, I supose that a Nikon D90 for example, will only shoot in Manual mode, right ?
But, the internal exposure meter will work in all 3 modes (spot, center weighted and matrix) or I will have to buy an external photometer ?
It is the same for a Nikon D3000 ?
Many thanks !
