One panoramic solution for iPhone and perhaps iPad that may be somewhat overlooked is MoblVR - www.moblvr.com
Doesn't use Flash (uses Javascript as far as I know) to present Panos from JPEG cubefaces, pinch/zoom function and info page and multiple tour list.
Good value and fast support when I had a problem first trying to get it to work.
I understand Pangea is more like a database and you can store panos on your iPhone for presentation.
Don't think this app does that but for Iphone web apps/sites, this does a pretty good job I reckon. As for the iPad, since MoblVR is not flash based, might be workable??
For anyone with an iPhone (OS 3.0 required), here's an example of a pano presented on the iPhone incarnation of my main site. iphone.shoppeek360-fukuoka.com/tours/outside/bepp...

Wow. Really striking images Omer.
Haven't seen too many portraits of everyday people presented through the pano medium. Being so used to viewing still portraits and extracting details and meaning from the expressions of the main subjects, the 360 field of view in your shots really complements the person within image with the surrounding "mis-en-scene" providing more detail about these people and their lives. And it dragged me into their world at the same time.
Worked for me and the images and camera placement/shot comp in general I felt were technically superb. Thanks for your inspiration!

Cheers for the feedback fellas.
Yeah, my concerns were somewhat along the lines of what you suggested.
Tried to add a sound toggle on/off button but can't get the code to work yet.
Overlapped the sounds a bit more but have no control over fade in krpano as far as I can gather so far.
And thanks for the tip to add cursors Smooth.

Hi all,
Here's my first dig at a pano using KRpano (previously using Pano2vr) Incorporated a bit of directional sound for the first time but not really sure if its complementing the pano or it's just annoying people. Any feedback would be great.

Thanks for the links and insight fellas. Pano2VR a bit smoother on your examples Hans but still choppier compared to KRPano and FPP (on a par) on my computer.
As for "the feel" Trausti, still KRPano for me due to the multi-rez function which is suitable for my workflow and website objective, though I can't say I've delved into FPP and Flashificator..yet. All the best with the development.

Wonder if anyone could could provide the lowdown on the differences (and what you deem the best) in performance of the flash viewers.
I started on Pano2VR and have very recently switched to KRPano for this very reason, but not sure if this is because of my settings or somethings
I like the GUI, skin editor and basic workflow for Pano2VR but found the general panning, zooming and rotation of the SWF clunky compared to the same pano outputted with KRPano. I understand this may also depend on how heavy the pano is loaded with skins and graphics and the computer's processor (don't know if I'm right) However I've done a few tests on mac(intel) and pc and testing on a variety of browsers, and I've found KRpano to be superior in performance. Haven't tested FPP but on viewing other sites with FPP panos on them I find it's still a bit cumbersome as compared to KRPano.
Still, I know very little about what makes the viewers tick and flash processors, etc.
Have been perusing the forums a bit for info but only found discussions on tourmakers and stitichers and which are the best. But is viewer performance high on list you guys when choosing which software to use?
Cheers Red

Does anyone know if there's any difference in quality of an equirectangular which has been converted to cubes to mess around with the nadir and then recompiled as an equirectangular when using cubic converter for mac or pano2vr?
Which is the better software to do the job? Will do tests in the coming days but just throwing it out there. Thanks in advance for any clues in advance.

Greetings from Japan and a happy new year to all in the panosphere.
Thought I'd start the New Year off by sharing a bubbly hot spring tour with a hellish theme from Oita, Japan.
www.shoppeek360-fukuoka.com/search/tourmenu/other...
It was my first real dig at fusing exposures and still learning about the art of photography in general so any feedback at all would be welcomed. Unfortunately I shot at ISO 400 resulting in a lot of denoising work, so one important rule I learnt is that I have to check my ISO setup before shooting!
All the best for the new year

Thanks for the feedback Trausti. Im aware of the fullscreen going back to the beginning of the tour and is not to my liking. It's how I've set my skins up in pano2VR and and is a catch 22 for me. I want the user to access a faster loading pano first, and I know could make the file sizes bigger in the smaller panos so the user can go fullscreen directly. But I chose against this option. I could also use show and hide elements in the skin for the fullscreen button, but couldn't for the life of me get it to work in the editor and it also increases the initial pano load with a heavier skin. Decisions decisions...
Thanks for the windowed mode feedback too. I didn't realize as I don't usually use the mouse wheel. Yes, not nice at all. So how would I be able to overcome this obstacle. Do I have to add some code?
Thanks again
Redmond

Great stuff Aram. Have dug your other studio pano stuff too on your site. I've never done a studio and am kinda new to pano photography in general so excuse me if this question may seem naive...
How did you shoot/process this?? For example did you Shoot in a 4 walled studio getting the model to move also for the next shot or did you create six white cube faces in post, then superimpose the models on top. Or convert to tif, then superimpose?
Got me stumped and the illusion works for me. Any tips would be appreciated. Cheers Redmond

Here is an excavation site turned historical park called Yoshinogari, in Saga Prefecture, South Western Japan. It's an multi-node tour with a map.
www.shoppeek360-fukuoka.com/search/tourmenu/other...
As you will see, there are stitching errors that need to be corrected in some of the panos due to a dodgy template I thought was fool proof. Obviously not..
Stitching errors aside, would appreciate any feedback on how the tour flows and if the interface and map complement this. Hope you enjoy. Redmond

Nice pano of the cathedral grounds too Mark, with the statue up close. As for the sky, it certainly makes me feel as if I'm back in England! Cheers

Thanks for the tips and feedback fellas. Trausti, I'll try multiple EV settings when I next shoot in those types of conditions. Yeah, it was pretty humid that day (toward the end of summer) and Japanese skies tend to look a bit hazy during the hot months, so I guess I can't do much about that factor?
As for the reconciliation statue at Coventry. There didn't seem to be one the same in Nagasaki. I understand statues in the peace park have been "donated" from various countries so I suspect the statue in Coventry had been chosen to remain in England and signify remembrance from there.
All the best and looking forward to participating in the forums.

Hi everyone,
I'm currently making some panos on the south west island of Kyushu in Japan. Here's a small tour of the Nagasaki Peace Park. www.shoppeek360-fukuoka.com/search/tourmenu/nagas...
I'm pretty new to the panosphere and photography in general. I have a lot more to learn so any tips/critiques would be greatly appreciated.
For instance, the sky in the pano gets really bleached out to white when the sun is covered by cloud. Is there any way around this, as in applying a filter or some photoshop work to decrease the white?
All the best Redmond
