Hi there,

I am having problems trying to figure out how the HTML editor in Photovista Virtual Tour works.

I am at a loss trying to figure out how to use their templates or to start a project from a blank page.

Iseemedia (the manufacturer) does not respond to my enquiries.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you

Kevin

Hi there,

You might want to look at software called Photomatix. They have a free trial version that is fully functional. (it does however watermark your finished photos until you pay the licencing fee.

I set up on a tripod with a pano head and bracket three images at each position. The amount of bracketing will vary from room to room but a good starting point is one stop over, metered, and one stop under. I am using a Nikon D100 which allows me to perform this function.

After downloading the images I simply open them in photomatix and batch process them. They allow you several options for combining the images so experiment. I find I get reasonable results using their "auto" setting. I found the software very user friendly and had it figured out fairly quickly.

The program attempts to balance the inside exposure with the window exposure and gives acceptable results.

After processing in photomatix I open the images in my stitching software and proceed from there.

I use a combination of flash and available light. Again, depending on the size of the room.
So it is best to experiment. If you have the option on your camera to preset the white balance then I would suggest using it. Espeially in large rooms with multiple lighting sources.

The cost of Photomatix was about $130 Canadian.
Hope this helps.

Hi there,

Stay away from Photovista Virtual Tour!

Although Photovista Panorama is great for doing the stitching(they have a 30 day free trial) I am having nothing but problems with the other portions of the tour package.

This would not be so bad if Photovista had good manuals and online help but I am finding them to be greatly lacking in these departments.

If you are a computer guru you will probably be able to figure things out but, if you are like me then be prepared to get frustrated.
