Jurgen.

No, definitely not one of my long ago ancestors. I can guarantee there are no saints in my family.

Mark.

Agree that the colour is not 100% accurate but that is deliberate. Added the bit of a yellow cast to it gives it a slightly 'warmer' feel than the actual grey. To me colour is subjective and doesn't need to be a 100% actual representation but rather used to convey a feeling.

My opinion only laugh

Jon,

I have brought down the exposure a touch. Will admit that I wanted it to be more 'light and airy' but probably went a bit too far sad

Unfortunately the windows are as good as they get, got my exposure wrong when shooting.

Here's a pano I shot recently at the old Vulture Mine near Wickenburg, Arizona.

This particular pano is what was the mine workshop.

Richard,

Sorry, don't have the picture you require. Just went down to shoot some panos and didn't get any 'normal' photos.

Andrew,

No, it's just not a tourist attraction now, it is managed by University of Arizona and they still carry out experiments there. Half of the proceeds from the guided tours there goes to the university to fund research.

John,

At a cost of $200 million that's a pretty expensive greenhouse smile

Yes, looking at it again it definitely did need levelling so I have, hopefully, corrected the levelling and also worked on the nadir cap.

I do use an EZ-Leveller and take care to get everything level before I start shooting. I have a feeling the problem is with my ball head sometimes slipping slightly during rotation. The biggest problem though is me not looking at the stitched image closely enough and missing errors. This is just something I will have to take more care with.

Dylan

While I agree with Smooth that the best upgrade is to move up to one of the Advanced rotators, RD8 or RD16, I am not sure they are compatible with the NN3 Mk I. If you upgrade to the NN3 Mk II rotator you wouldn't have to replace the detent rings the old rings work fine. Matter of fact the NN3 Mk II rings don't work with the NN3 Mk I lower rail due to difference in rail thickness etc.

Rob

You have the Mk I NN3 not the Mk II. You can upgrade to the new NN3 Mk II Rotator which is an improved rotator that is a big improvement over the original NN3 rotator. You can find it in the Nodal Ninja website on the rotators page.

Here's a pano of Biosphere2 outside Tucson, Arizona.
Constructed between 1987 and 1991, it was used to explore the complex web of interactions within life systems in a closed structure. It also explored the possible use of closed biospheres in space colonization.

CR2 RAW images causing really hazy parts?

I doubt that is is shooting in RAW - CR2 that is causing the problem.
I have both a Canon 350D and Canon 450D and shoot in RAW - CR2 and stitch them in PTGui Pro and the results have been very good.

I usually shoot HDR +-2 and have gotten good clear results. It is best to shoot in fully manual mode, manual shutter speed and F stop and manual focus and to set your ISO. Using TV or AV or Auto mode will result in changes to the shutter speed or F stop or both depending on the shooting mode you use and this could be causing your problem.

Hope this helps,

Agate House

Took a trip up to North Eastern Arizona last week to visit the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert.

Here's a pano I took of Agate House in the Petrified Forest National Park:

panomonium.com/ah1_fh.html

Agate House was built by the local Native Americans sometime between 1050 and 1300AD.
The house was built from fossilized trees from the Petrified Forest.

It was partially reconstructed in the 1930's but no further work has been done.
As you can see from the surrounding countryside it is a flat, barren and desolate area but it also has its own stark beauty.

Hope you enjoy.
