Thanks Hans, but that will still give me the pan head in shot. The difficulty is capturing the actual nadir with 3 exposures without hand holding. Its OK to hand hold when not using HDR, but with longish exposures and 3 shots to capture this won't work. OK if the nadir is grass or concrete which can be easily touched in, but complex images need 3 stable shots.

I've never quite cracked a perfect Nadir with 3 x HDR shots. But this thread has made me think. Using a 10.5 fisheye on a 360Precision Absolute did not allow me to tilt downwards to create the 'handheld' downward shots, but the Adjuste does allow a tilt to whatever angle I want. SO, for an HDR set, can I now shoot my usual 8 x 3 around + 1 x 3 Zenith + 2 x 3 opposing Nadirs + 1 x 3 Nadir patch shots with the tripod moved back and the camera tilted down by (say) 45 degrees, then use Viewpoint Correction to patch the hole. I will do some tests, but thought I would fire off this post while in my mind. If I'm close, can you let me know. (Matt?) Thanks Marcus

Hi Mahmood, Like the new Panos, good bright work. I use an Atome with 10.5 fisheye but can only do cylindricals. With your 8mm lens can you get the zenith and nadir easily? Marcus

Hi Doug, I have been lucky with this recent commission as I was dealing through a designer and he had no problems, so I got paid. In a previous incident, client was having problems so I quickly knocked up a web page in iWeb with rotating QT movie embedded and posted it on my server. I sent them a link and said "I'm no web designer, but even I can do this!". Seemed to do the trick!

I too sometimes wonder what else I can do to get my 360s on the client's site. I recently supplied the images as thumbnails, QT movie and Flash movie. Months later I get the word "their IT guys can't open the files". Everyone else can - doesn't say much for their IT department. The images look good on MY web site though.........

Wish you well with this project but its not easy to join - I've tried dozens of times and it keeps telling me of an error, but I don't see what the error is.

Always got my orders. Always the best equipment. No problem contacting 360Precision via iChat and Skype. e-mails a bit hit and miss but usually OK. No 'scam' here. Maybe a bit of patience required all round. Marcus

Hi Mark, Thanks for your handheld technique - never thought of using my forehead! I've recently been trying out a 360 Precision Atome on a Gitzo trekking pole. Its a good combination for walking up steep hills, but maybe all I ever needed was my head? I've yet to try bracketing/HDR without a tripod but will give it a go soon.

Hello Ieplep, Thanks for posting the link - you've made some really good panoramas. I'm planning to drive through Norway in a Camper Van next May taking 360s. Maybe I'll look you up when I'm in Tromso?

Hi again Erik, Just re-read your post. I also used to use the Manfrotto and was glad when the 360P came along. Chalk and cheese! I have a second arm for the Nikkor 12-24 (to go with the arm for the 10.5 fisheye). Easy to change with 2 screws. Also, with the reversable detent ring, I can use both the 12mm and 24mm settings. So 3 options. I agree that a mini pano kit would be very useful though, so interested to hear about the set up you propose.
best,
Marcus

Hi Erik, I've recently bought a Ricoh GX100 and would like to get a very portable system going too (I'm with Nikon D2X and 360 Precision set up). How do you find the Nikon WC-E68? Good? Please let me know how it all goes.....I might be following in your footsteps! Good luck,
Marcus
