Thanks for your tutorials! I learned a lot from them and it helped me use PTGui more efficiently.

Erik,
I agree with Andrew. Get a fisheye lens for the 30D because I fell that camera is easier and faster for shooting spherical panos.

Tabb,
Looks good. I'm guessing a flash or xml programmer could add some code to preload the second pano after the first one was loaded. This way there wouldn't any waiting for the transition. It would be similar to a rollover gif in html.
Good luck! Phil

Klaus,
I'm using the Sigma 10mm lens on a Canon 30D. Shooting 6+1+1 works great. 5 around might work but you'll have no room for error and that 6th shot only takes a few extra seconds.

Kirk,
Shooting outside on an overcast day with multiple exposures should work well. I've done it twice on a partly cloudy day and it worked. An overcast day would be better.
Here's one of mine I did the second week of me learning how to shoot and stitch panos. www.flickr.com/photos/philwarner/2272783228
The tripod wasn't properly secured and moved causing stitching errors. I was also in a hurry and forgot the nadir shot. It was the first time I tried using Enfuse so that part of the experiment was a success.

klausesser said: VR means "Virtual Reality" - and that´definitely not, what we are dealing with as panorama-photographers.
That's exactly what I was thinking too. If this was VR you could move forward and walk around the scene like in a real virtual reality environment simular to playing a game of Halo. But if I import the panorama into my Reflex XTR flight simulator it becomes a virtual world for me to fly rc helicopters and planes. I like to call my shots spherical panoramas.
klausesser...where those 200 shots in your gigapan shot with an automated panohead? They look great.

What's the degree of you color blindness? I also have a tint color blindness with red & green. It does make adjusting the colors more challenging but it can still be learned. If you use Photoshop you can use it to work around your color blindness.
I only know this because I found someone who will be giving me Photoshop lessons on how to do it. I've only had one lesson to date and have been upgrading my computer and monitor before continuing. Anyone that teaches Photoshop for photography should be able to help you. Then you won't need to outsource anything and can make the edits quickly.
Stitching the panoramas will become easy after you do a number of them. Once you learn how to set up the camera and panohead stitching is almost automatic.
