these look like great panos, but as a mac user, i cant see them at all, too bad, i love islamic architecture
nabil, stick w/ one of the flash players, you will get a much larger audience for your panos
good luck !

i was surprised these features are in photoshop at all, if they worked as well as ptgui etc for 360 spherical stitching, "amazed" would be a better word
the original link i posted at the top of this thread does demonstrate a pano being exported directly from photoshop CS4 to a swf, but i think someone said this feature would not be present in the final version
i'm sure we'll all see soon....

i've got a couple sites set up with wordpress & flash panorama player, and i've found a few different options that will work -
if you use XML files w/ flash panorama player, etc, make sure to always use absolute urls in the xml itself, and in all specified paths
if no xml files, or self contained swfs or movs, ignore the xml bits in the code below, just link directly to your files
these all apply to a self installed version of wordpress from wordpress.org, not a hosted wordpress.com site -
1- embed your pano in an iframe, this is prob the easiest method, but maybe probs w/ IE, object/embed. etc
<iframe src="http://www.yoursite/yourpano.swf" height="600" width="900"></iframe>
2 - use FPP-Pano plugin - wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fpp-pano/ (i haven't tried this one)
3 - use Kimli Flash Embed Plugin, this automatically adds swfobject - kimili.com/plugins/kml_flashembed
example - www.samrohn.com/virtual-tour/new-york-city/
use the embed code like -
[kml_flashembed movie="http://www. yoursite.com/pano/files/pano.swf?xml_file=http://www. yoursite.com/pano/xml/your-xml.xml" height="400" width="640" allowfullscreen="true" /]
4 - using the lightwindow plugin for wordpress, wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lightwindow-20-for-i... you can embed your pano in a lightwindow modal pop-up
example - www.nylocations.com/panoramic-photography/new-yor...
<a href="http://www. yoursite.com/pano.swf?xml_file=http://www. yoursite.com/pano.xml" class="lightwindow page-options" params="lightwindow_width=600,lightwindow_height=400,lightwindow_loading_animation=false"">LINK</a>
or link to your own page w/ embedded pano, etc
<a href="http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/pano.php" class="lightwindow page-options" params="lightwindow_width=600,lightwindow_height=400,lightwindow_loading_animation=false"">LINK</a>
this will also work with url vars, etc

another vote for gitzo w/ leveling column, i have a gitzo 1258 LVL, the leveling column eliminates the need for another leveling device between panohead & tripod, saving a bit more weight in your kit
i never check in any of my photo gear when flying, 1258 is fine for carry on

it isn't really a question i suppose, although it could have been phrased as "what else can i do ?"
support from other pano photographers in such times can be helpful in getting these incidents of pano-piracy resolved, i have found my panos used on other sites without permission or proper credit along w/ other photographers and i'm sure the group pressure was helpful in getting things sorted quickly - one of the advantages of community....
nataly, you might try posting this to PanoToolsNG & IVRPA, i think a few 360ciites photogs hang out there...
good luck, keep us posted

hi james -
i am using OS X 1.5.5, safari 3.1.2, & am seeing the same thing, command (apple key) clicking on a link brings current tab to that link, & creates new tab w/ that link - it was happening w/ prev version as well
strange thing is, it does not always happen, but prob about 90% of the time when trying to open individual forum messages from a given forums main page
this is a very common way for me to navigate the web, and i have not seen this behavior on any other page, no other forums, etc -
let me know if i can be of further assistance getting this sorted, and many thanks for the great forums -

ok, seems my object/embed tags were not properly sorted, they are now fixed, the panos now play fine under IE 6 - thanks hayden !
but now i've seen how badly IE butchers my layout, you might want to try viewing it in firefox.... guess i've a bit more work ahead...

hmm, just heard the same from another user, they were using IE under XP, and did not have flash installed, which i figured was pretty universal at this point, thats what i get for not properly testing my site...
but you do have flash installed, or wouldn't see the panos on my other site, i am using swfobject there, guess i'll be redoing the pano code on nylocations this evening...
thanks for the tip

depends on if you want full screen or not, which i do, and i typically reduce my equirectangulars panos to between 6000x3000 - 5000x2500 px (in photoshop) before converting, this usually gives me a qtvr file between 2 & 3 MB or so -
generally speaking, i think cube faces around 1600 - 1900 should look good for full screen
this one is a qtvr file of 3MB (displayed w. flash pano player), cube faces are 1612 px - www.nylocations.com/360-panorama/hayden-planetari...

Doug Aurand said: Sam, if Alaa pays some one to use CubicConnetor to link the images together will they play from a CD and on both Macs and PCs?
i believe so, i think it will export the kind of single file multi node qtvr movie that should play fine from a CD -
what about just making a web presentation and putting it on a CD ? i would think that if one used relative urls it would work ok ?
or just putting the panos on a proper website ? seems more logical anyway, panos on CD seems very 1996....
pano2vr does qtvr hotspots too, see this tutorial - gardengnomesoftware.com/tutorial.php?kid=hs_01
macophile that i am, i've kind of given up on any real future for qtvr, i would recomend looking at flash panorama options like flash panorama player, pano2vr, panosalado, etc
