I haven't got a personnal site, and i've allready reached the maximum of 5 panoramas allowed on this site, so...

...where can i upload my panos, and have them displayed, like i do with my "normal" pics at Pbase.com, but AS QTVR?

Thanks in advance for any help,
J-P.

Thank you very much John ! It did work allright !

I got the 6 sides of the cube (plus 6 smaller images in B&W) !

BTW, i also downloaded KUBE.EXE and ran it: it works great !

...wow... there are geniuses in this world !!! I just can't imagine the sum of work -and knowledge- implied to create such programs !?!

Hi ! problem again: i had a spherical pano made by Stitcher Express, but i want to clean the Nadir and give a bit more sharpness to the whole thing !

Now, how can i (re)create the cube-faces from my *.MOV file ?

Before you ask, the HD where i kept many images crashed, so i lost the equirectangular file and the 8 images that composed the panorama !

TIA for some help...

Hi John !

You're right about the Nadir: i have to find the correct way to shoot it so that i can clone out the tripod+feet plus their shadows !

I had to buy and use Stitcher Express, after having tried Hugin, PTGui and PTAssembler, wich ALL were unable to give proper results !

Hi Mark !

It is indeed very dark ! ...in fact, it's darker in reality than on the image !

I guess the quality is not as "clean" as it could be because:

1) i don't know well enough how to manage the sizes, be it from the stitching to the *.MOV file

2) i had to shoot at ISO 800, and the D200 is NOT the best camera for high ISO shooting

3)i don't know yet what the best way to sharpen images that are going to be "treated" for spherical panorama (i applied the same sharening technique that i use for my "normal" photography) !

Of course, any tips is more than welcomed !

J-P.

Hi ! You're right about the starting viewing point ! I'd like to move it, but i just don't know how !?!

I used Stitcher Express to stitch the images and Pano2QTVR to create the spherical result...

Any tips on how to change the focal point ?

TIA,
J-P.

Spherical pano from A to Z ?
Spherical pano from A to Z ?

Hi ! i'm new on 360x180 panoramas, and although i allready read loads of articles about that, i'd like to make things clearer -and simpler, if possible- !

I have some questions that i'd like you to answer:

1) is it worth shooting RAW for 360x180 panoramas ?
2) what size in pixels do i have to make the images ?
3) is it better to convert the images in JPG before to build the equirectangular pano ? ...or after ? ...or keep them in TIF till the end ?
4) what size do i have to make the equirectangular image, (in order to upload on Panoguide Forums), while keeping the best ratio quality vs size (in pixels) vs size in kilobytes ?
5) what's the best settings to use with Pano2QTVR ?

...i guess that when i have the answers for all these questions, i will save a lot of time trying every possible settings in the different programs used to build these panoramas !?!

Thanks in advance for your help !

Cheers,
J-P.

Thanks for the quick answer ! ...but i guess i didn't explain exactly what i wanted to know:

What do i have to do IN PANOGUIDE "upload page " page to have the "full page" option working !

I only have the "click to view: window ~300Kb" option, but not the "click to view: window ~300Kb | fullscreen ~1Mb" options !

Hope now it's clearer ?

Sigma 8mm vs Sigma 10-20

I just uploaded a 360x180 panorama (my first try) that i took with a Nikon D200 with the Sigma 10-20 and a Panosaurus head.

It's at www.panoguide.com/gallery/172/

I took 18 images: 8 at -30 deg. (every 45 degrees), 8 at + 30 deg., Nadir and Zenith.

I extensively use the Sigma for "normal" architecture shots, and i found it to be VERY sharp, even fully open !

Of course, an 8 mm. fisheye would simplify the job for making spherical panos, but i wouldn't use that lens for anything else, so.... finances first !
