There are some good, but expensive pano heads on the market. The only one I know that does suit my needs but is still affordable, is the Nodal Ninja.

Anyhow it's always a good practice to avoid using the rotation of the tripod head itself while shooting pano sets.

Planty doesn't have an FC-E9, nor a Nikon to to use it on.

I have to agree with Theo that the combination of Nikon camera with FC-E9 fisheye plus Agnos Mrotator is a very nice set if you want to shoot virtual tours for use on websites.

But for those of us who do not want to buy a Nikon, who want to shoot pano's with their current camera, who want to be more flexible in their choice oflens or zoom, the Nodal Ninja is a very good choice indeed.

It takes me some minutes to determine the exact position of the nodal point of a new lens, then I cut some plastic strips to serve as rulers for the next time I mount that lens on my ninja. You can also make scratch marks on the ninja itself.
Actually in most cases I'm able to stitch quite nice pano's from pictures taken with the lens a little offset from its actual nodal point.

I noticed today that most ipix related sites are badly accessible or totally unaccessible. And I found a site that looks new to me but vey similar to the old ipix site: stich-fisheye.com
I also noticed that most sites that once called for an Ipix boycot are currently dead links.
I believe that the Ipix attempt to monopolize the pano world should never be forgotten and that we should stay alert.
