This printer won't let you down. The starter cartridge lasts and lasts - I've had it a year and I haven't had to replace it yet. Move over bubblejets, black and white home printing just doesn't get better. Thickish, coated card? No problem. Just chuck it in... I really like this printer!

This is a cheap, reliable unit that provides a clear, crisp output and ends the headaches of clogged jets, head cleaning rituals etc. I provide computer services to local clients and have persuaded a number of them to buy this unit. Every one of those clients has told me that they wished they had bought it sooner.
I see that this unit is not showing up on some sites any more. I suggest that you buy a spare cartridge, in case they change the model...
Well worth the small cost.

Functionally, the printer itself is good, good quality prints and decently fast. The one major fault is the lack of a menu button. This causes a problem because I ran into the issue of the printer spooler needing resetting, which happens rather often. But you have to know the procedure for doing this via Windows rather than on the printer itself, since there's no button to do this.
Also, HP's service center hours in the UK are too short. The U.S. has 24 hour service, so I called them. But this is more of a reflection of the level of customer service provided in the UK.
Overall, after the initial hiccups, very happy with the printer.
