Christ Church by Night, Melaka
23 Feb 2007, by James Rigg
This is the "old centre" or Dutch square. Queen Victoria Jubilee Fountain in the centre is surrounded by the Dutch Town Hall (circa 1650), the famous bright red Christ Church and the Jam Besar (clock tower), circa 1886.
This was one of my first ever night time panoramic images and quite a learning experience. In the tropical climate of Malaysia, it is a little more comfortable doing photography at night, but the lighting problems (glare from lights rather than sunlight) and shadows etc are the same!
Equipment Used
3 rows of 8 shots (overkill admittedly) plus 2 down shots using Canon EOS 20D, Canon 10-22 EFS lens, Manfrotto 190MF3 tripod, Nodal Ninja 3 panoramic head, RealViz Stitcher Unlimited
