Christiansted National Historic Site
26 Sep 2009, by Tom Williamson
The harbor in Christiansted is lined with historic buildings built mostly by the Danish before the United States purchased the Virgin Islands in 1918. We have had seven different flags fly over our islands: Spain, the Knights of Malta, France and England, The Netherlands, Denmark and now the U.S! Christopher Columbus even landed here in 1493. We are a little place with a lot of history. Come see for yourself.
