Milford Track, Mackinnon Pass

click to view: On day 2 of the Milford Track we left our rucksacks at Mintaro hut and took an afternoon excursion to Mackinnon Pass where the sun was waiting for us with barely a cloud in the sky. On the landward side annual rainfall is 6 metres, on the seaward 8. The next morning when we had to lug our packs over the pass strong winds were blowing clouds over it.
