My eye is well and truly on this one for the NEX. Let's hope a little shave and hey presto!

Lots of questions about adaptability from M43 to E-Mount. Can the M43 lens be positioned at the right distance from the sensor to focus properly. What about vignetting or soft edges? Is the lens hood removable?

Has anyone adapted any M43 to an E-Mount camera? There is an adapter. Theoretically, one could use the Panasonic 8mm fisheye right now.

Yes, I have the M43/NEX adapter. Yes, I have attached a fourthirds lens. No the Panasonic 8mm is a good choice because you can't change the aperture as it is internal and electronic.

That's the advantage of the full manual Samyang.

Lens hood appears to be fixed. But I own tools that say it will detach! devil

What M43 lens did you adapt? Can I see some images shot through it?

I asked Samyang they could test 7,5 shaved on nex and send me photos. No answer by now. I said them would be a good idea make 7,5 m.m.available for 1,5-1,6 crop sensor cameras.

Hi Ken,

It was the Panasonic 8mm and I did it in store. Being a department store I wasn't allowed to take photos. Just look through the view finder (LCD). Focus looked fine but the aperture was non adjustable and I could see the lens hood.

With the hood off, the 7.5 could be the ideal cropped fisheye if the edges don't get too soft and focusing isn't a problem.

Maybe Samyang will become spontaneously enlightened and produce an E-Mount version with a removable lens hood.

Could happen...

Gotta love DYI. I just wish they would hurry up and release the lens. I have another trip to Yosemite scheduled in October. Not that I am not happy with my current rig. Size, after all, does matter.

I'll wait for ebay when the competition is a little be more competitive I think. Different brand names etc.

That should be "in stock" not "on stock" LOL

I asked if the 7.5mm fisheye would be available for NEX. This is the answer I got:

Wiadomość od klienta!Hello,

there will be a 8mm fish-eye lens 2.8 for Sony NEX in this year.

-- Best Regards Karol Piętka Sales and marketing manager www.samyang.pl ----- Original Message -----

Can you say if there will be a Sony NEX E-Mount version of your MFT 7.5mm fisheye. That would be particularly interesting to the panoramic photography community as the Sony NEX is proving to be a very convenient size for outdoor panoramic photography. Your small 7.5mm fisheye would be a very attractive lens for that use.
