Hi, as I promised, the good things about the stitchless technique are about to come. As a result of significant amount of studying in my stitchless technique I'm proud to anounce that very good stitchless panoramas from tripod/panohead or handheld are now equally possible.
Some examples will follow in a week.
I can tell you.. this is wow! except the part that you need FF and FE 8..10mm or , if on crop camera, then a 4.x mm FE for full sphere.

Hi Dorin,
Seems to work well. How does this differ from what we did over a year ago with hand held stitchless?

Hi Smooth, the panos look the same as them are stitchless, over one year ago the that hand held stitchless panos was produced by adjusting your under 10° of precision (very good) via remapping in one intermediate equirectangular for each fish eye.
Now this is different not need for that step, nor such hand held precission and some good extra is that it can be complete automatically produced.
The benefit of this will be for the tourist in areas where no tripod/monopod is allowed

Dorin You have to practice more. You are supposed to rotate the lens around the NPP. Not around the NTP (Nodal Toe Point)

The NTP can only be achieved using the PanoShoe (TM), originally from nodalninja. Can be used together with the PoleShirt (TM).
PS.: nodalninja: apology for the fun; you make great Pano-Hardware!

on which places monopods are not allowed? i remember my first 3dstereo-testshooting using stereodatamaker-inside public-sector of soccer arena. security thought my monopod could be a threat. but then they let me go. it was free entry and not a high-ranking guest-team was playing.

In Europe I found that if they do not allow tripods, they do not allow monopods. I finally got a straight answer from one of the security guards. They think that professionals are the only ones who use tripods, so the person using a tripod must be taking pictures to sell. They have no clue about monopods, so they do not want to be put in the position to figure out if the person is a professional or not. The Louvre states that no camera support can be used. That gets them out of allowing monopods. I was even approached as I finished shooting a series inside the lobby. I thought I was safe, since no artwork was to be found. Not the case. For hand held panoramas I ended up putting a 2 axis bubble level on the hot shoe as a way to help me see if I was holding the camera straight. Wish I had a laser pointer attached so I could pivot around more accurately.

There is always the string-pod. Very useful, and I curse myself for not having a string when I was at Machu Picchu earlier this year, since there is a prohibition on tripods. When I tried to reason with the fascist in charge, the guards/police were told to make sure I didn't enter the area even with a camera.
My "mistake" was being honest about being "on the job"... for that I needed special permission, which would require 3 days travel back and forth, 800 dollars in license plus travel costs + hotels ... I offered paying the license on the spot... and that was taken like a bribery attempt.
Bastards.
But since then, I have a string-pod with my gear.... just in case.
