CS5 Issues between iMac and MacBook Pro

I successfully stitched a panorama using Photoshop CS5 on my quad core 2.93GHz iMac at school, but then came home to have it printed and forgot to bring the hard drive it was on (I thought I had put it on a flash drive). So now I have the photos on my laptop, but they won't stitch together in Photoshop CS5 on my MacBook Pro, which I brought home with me. I wanted to have this printed and mounted by Monday to give to my uncle, but with this issue it's looking like I won't be able to even access the file until I get back to school. Like I said, stitched fine on my iMac, couldn't even stitch 2 images together on my MacBook Pro... any thoughts?

Jesse, I cannot help you with your Mac problem as I only have a PC, but CS5's Photomerge managed to stitch your images ok. However, I also stitched them with PTGui and I've put a good quality jpeg from that at tinyurl.com/c772ypz (44MB), which may be useful if all else fails.

Jesse,

I'm just downloading your file.

What about your memory on the mac book pro and free space in case of temporary files to be placed on your hard disk.

PTGui often told me not enough space..So I placed the temp files to an extra mobile hard disk till I changed the hard disk in my MacBookPro to a 500GB/7200rpm hard disk.

Your pano stitches quite easily with PTGui.
You should probably look to different software. AutoPano Pro/Giga, PTGui/Pro or even the freebies like Microsoft ICE.

Thanks guys. I had to format my laptop, but I got things to work again. Unfortunately I lost my serial ID so my CS5 that I paid damn good money for is now on a trial basis while I wait to hear back from my friend (with no guarantee she'll get my message) who has the box (we split the cost of CS5).

It stitched pretty easily once I cleared out my entire laptop and re-installed the software, I was able to stitch it and have it printed. It cost me hours of sleep but it's done. Unfortunately, Smooth just kicked my ass on editing the photo... so Smooth, how did you edit that? I wish I could edit it that way. Especially when I get a fisheye and start trying little planet panoramas.

Jesse,

I can imagine the stress you had. I hate these things.

If you are registered, try this to find back your serial number:

What To Do If You've Lost Your Serial

If you have lost your serial number, you will need to contact customer support services at Adobe. They will instruct you on how to obtain a new one if possible. You will probably need to have proof of purchase, such as a scan of the UPC code on the box or a copy of your original receipt from the purchase.

If you are a registered Adobe site customer/user, and have purchased products or registered them on the Adobe site (something you should always do) then you can obtain your product serials from your Adobe online account. Login, go to your Account, and select Product Serial Numbers. For previous Macromedia customers, you will have to call Adobe for old serial numbers as they don't those online.

Read more: wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_serial_number_and_...

Once locked into your account you see "View Products registrations".

This will show you all your serial numbers. Print it and keep it in a safe place.... wink

Sucess,
Heinz

BTW: you can download trials: www.PTGui.com for example.
