Hi Friends,
I am new on this website and am new to pano world as well. I am planning to shoot some indoor 360 x 180 panoramas with Canon 5d Mark II + Canon 15 2.8 fish eye. I have a usual Manfrotto 3way head and 055 x prob legs. Do I need to have a pano head for creating 360 x 180 degrees? Your suggestions and help is required.

Yes.
Your suggestions and help is required. Nodal Ninja pano heads are popular:

It's a very old and quite heavy Manfrotto product, there are much better solutions available now.

I changed years ago from Manfrotto Panohead to Nodal Ninja. Bets decision ever. Manfrotto is heavy, sharp, and no upgrades till now.

Thanks for help.
Right now the only thing that is available with me is Manfrotto 303 head. Can anybody suggest me how to best use it for the 360 x 180 panoramas.

I am mainly planning to use Canon 5d Mk II with fish eye. Will the 180 degree view of 15 2.8 is enough for 303 manfrotto to handle. Because in that case, I won't need to do multirow panoramas?

The Canon 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye is 180 degrees diagonal NOT vertical. This means you need to shot zenith and nadir shots to cover the sphere.
To do what you are saying with a single row you will require a 180 degree vertical fisheye (Even then, you really need a small tilt up to close the zenith hole.). This brings you to off the shelf lenses: Canon 8-15mm f/4 fisheye, Sigma 8mm f/3.5 fisheye and the "hoodless" version of the Tokina 10-17mm zoom fisheye.
But, you have already be warned that the Manfrotto 303 panohead is old, heavy, outdated and overpriced. Seems you want it only because you can buy it from your local camera store? Where are you located? You will do far better avoiding the Manfrotto and buying a more up to date multi-row panohead like those produced by Nodal Ninja or Agnos.
Though, some people just don't like taking advise!

Hi,
Some links to check what you have to do with a certain lens: to check the number of shots around plus you see VFov and HVof:
www.frankvanderpol.nl/fov_pan_calc.htm
for the pano:
www.vrwave.com/panoramic-lens-database/canon/
This should help you around your question if you think of other lenses.
Once again, I would not buy a new manfrotto panohead right now. If you already have one or can get it for nothing, you could only try the uncomfortable way to loosen the camera mounting screw, set some marks on the L-Clamp for special degree settings for example +60º/+90º. After having done your shots around, loosen the camera mounting screw, set your camera to the new pitch, fasten and take for example your zenith shot. Other way round for the Nadir.
I think it should work that way to use the 303 for 360x180 pano. Just try it. If it works for you be sure you camera is brought back to 90º position of lens axis to the vertical Clamp Part for the next set of shots around.
Regards, Heinz
BTW: It should help us a lot to answer questions when we know in which country users live. Helps a lot for advice if we know you can find a shop for "everything" around the corner. Or if there is only one dealer in the middle of now-where, with a restricted assortment of "Coca Cola, Red Bull and nothing else".
