Brilliant! The image quality isn't that bad for a prototype.

Haaaa!
That is funny, very cool, thanks Mark.
Guess now we need a 360 camera ball canon for aerial 360's

I think it is a very creative idea with a lot of potential. One thing confuses me though, why are they using 36 camera modules? I think they would get much better resulting doing it like the DIY Streetview guys, positioning fisheye cams in the sides of a cube. I guess the stitching would be a lot better that way.

I was just going to post about this topic.
I like the idea of minimizing the amount from 36 cameras to just maybe 4 fisheye lens, but I am guessing they did that because of the cost. Fish eyes cost more?

Fish eyes cost more, but too they must be more exposed to damage, 36 cheap cameras can cost less that 6 best cameras with fisheyes, it could be done with the Gopro.

Clever concept, but it will only be used to look over the neighbour's fence... I hope... A neutral-coloured case might diminish the green colour cast, but I hope they don't think of that; there are already too many competitors who think they can take panoramas with no equipment or skill around already without adding to the problem.
