Samyang 8mm on Nikon D7000?

I'm wanting to get the Nikon D7000 16mp camera for use with my Samyang 8mm. Does anyone have experience with this rig? Is 16 megapixels overkill for panos with the Samyang 8?

Hi Clay,
I’m using the Samyang 8mm (Nikon mount) on my Nikon D5000 (12.3 megapixels) and am happy with the combo.
Both cameras use the DX (APS-C) size sensor, so sharpness of the lens should be comparable on each.
What size panos do you plan to make? I suppose if you never need to make full-screen zoomable panos, then 16 mp might be overkill. Most of us like more detail to work with.

perfect combo. I just upgraded from my D90 to a D7000 this week. I also use the Samyang 8mm.

I like your work, so that's good enough for me.
I do have a few large panos and I enjoy the challenge and the result, but I wonder if at some point you can have too many pixels for the Samyang 8 and there's no point going higher.
I'll run some tests, but wanted to know what the forum thought.
One thing I'm really going to like is the low noise in the D7000 at high ISO values. THAT alone should be worth it for me.
